IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

ELECTRICAL;BUILDING PERMIT

INSTALLED LOCATION

Position filter and pump at least 4 feet from the pool to prevent child access.

PROPERLY SUPPORTED

Components should be properly supported to prevent damage from misalignment or vibration.

ACCESSIBILITY

Install circulation system components for easy accessibility for inspection, repair, or replacement.

PREVENT SEVERE SHOCK

Plug pump into a GFCI protected receptacle and ensure adult supervision for children.

DO NOT BURY CORD

Position cords to prevent accidental damage from lawn equipment, reducing severe shock risk.

BARE FEET;WET GROUND

Avoid touching electrical equipment with bare feet on wet ground to prevent severe shock.

SERVICING YOUR PUMP

Always unplug the pump from the receptacle before servicing, adjusting, or repairing it.

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION LOCATION

Place components 4ft from pool, using patio blocks for firm support and to keep areas dry.

POSITIONING FILTER;PUMP

Position filter and pump on a prepared pad as illustrated in the diagram.

INSTALL FILTER SAND

Use #20 grade filter sand with sharp edges for peak performance; avoid rounded sand.

REMOVE COVER CLAMP

Loosen tank clamp screws counter-clockwise to remove the cover.

REMOVE COVER

Lift the cover off the tank and remove the large O-ring.

COVER RISER TUBE

Slip a plastic bag over the riser tube and secure it with a rubber band.

INSTALL SAND

Gently pour 150 lbs of #20 filter sand into the tank and level the surface.

REINSTALL COVER

Position O-ring, place cover, align, and tighten tank clamp screws securely.

INSTALL HOSES

Connect hoses for suction, return, and pump discharge, ensuring no restrictions.

VALVE OPERATION

FILTER

Normal pool filtering position, also usable for vacuuming the pool.

BACKWASH

Reverses water flow to flush filter; waste water discharged to waste port. Duration 1-2 min.

FILTER TO WASTE

Position used after backwashing to discharge filtered water to waste for about 10 seconds.

PUMP TO WASTE

Allows vacuuming heavy debris or settled contaminants directly to waste.

RECIRCULATE POSITION

Increases water flow rate to circulate chemicals quickly throughout the pool.

WINTERIZE POSITION

Drains trapped water from the valve to relieve gasket compression during storage.

INITIAL START UP

FILTER OPERATION

WHEN TO BACKWASH

Backwash when pressure gauge increases 5-7 lbs above clean filter pressure.

VACUUMING YOUR POOL

Frequent backwashing may be needed due to rapid debris capture during vacuuming.

MAINTENANCE

LUBRICATION

Use silicone lubricants for moving parts; avoid petroleum-based lubricants that degrade plastic.

LUBE VALVE SHAFT

Lubricate O-ring on valve shaft by depressing handle and applying lubricant.

REPAIRS

DRAIN TANK

Remove clamp, cover, O-ring, drain cap, and scoop out sand for servicing.

WINTERIZING FILTER

Backwash filter, lower pool water, remove components, drain tank, and store indoors.
