It may be necessary to keep the alarm relays non-influ-
enced when performing tests and adjustment work.
1, 2 Connect sockets
on channel module
with wire jumper.
The relays for the
1st and 2nd alarm
keep being ener-
gized even at
alarm conditions.
3, 4 Connect sockets
on acknowledge-
ment module with
wire jumper. The
relay for audible warning keeps being de-ener-
gized even at alarm conditions.
Controller Unit REGARD with Channel Module

Please refer to the Instructions for Use REGARD Ex.
Setting the Sensor Current
Although - for compatibility reasons - the DrägerSensor
PR M DD and ... PR NPT DD can be operated by
270 mA, they should preferably be operated by a sensor
current of 255 mA.
Controller Unit Polytron with Channel Module
Polytron SE Ex:
1, 2 Connect voltmeter
(R
i
t 1 MOhm) to
the sockets.
3 Depending on the
sensor being
used, adjust the
potentiometer so
that the voltmeter
displays the fol-
lowing voltages:
z DrägerSensor PR M DD, ... PR NPT DD and ... HT
M DD:
Sensor current 255 mA: 561 mV
Sensor current 270 mA: 594 mV
z DrägerSensor LC M and DrägerSensor LC NPT:
Sensor current 276 mA: 607 mV
Example:
For the detection of n-Hexane the sensing head Poly-
tron SE Ex HT M DD needs to be adjusted to 255 mA:
Turn Potentiometer 3 such that the voltmeter reads
561 mV.
z Let equipment warm up at least for 10 minutes in this
condition (sensor warm-up time).
Controller Unit REGARD with Channel Module
REGARD Ex:
z By means of the menu »04-8 SETI« adjust sensor
current depending on the sensor used to the follow-
ing values:
z DrägerSensor PR M DD, ... PR NPT DD and ...
HT M DD:
Sensor current 255 mA
Sensor current 270 mA
DrägerSensor LC M and DrägerSensor LC NPT:
Sensor current: 276 mA
z Please refer to the Instructions for Use REGARD Ex.
WARNING
With an alarm inhibiting like this there is no electrical
signal generated which signals the alarm inhibit.
Not to leave the gas detection system in this unsafe
state, organisational measures (e.g. warning signs, in-
formation to the safety responsible person) have to be
kept.
