Enclosure Installation
• Select an indoor mounting location for the DROP Alert near the sump basin.
• Use the provided wall plate as a template to mark screw locations.
• If the screw locations are not directly over a wall stud, or the unit will be mounted to a masonry wall,
use the supplied anchors.
• Mount the wall plate with the provided anchors and screws as applicable.
• This device must be added to your HUB like all other DROP products in the System / Advanced page.
Once there tap “Add Device Components”. A 5-minute countdown will start.
• Install the (2) AA batteries provided into the back of the DROP Alert and note the polarity.
• DROP Alert device will appear with all other devices.
Press the “Check/Silence” button. After a few moments, the green okay check mark should light up
indicating that it was able to communicate with the Hub. If the red no network light turns on instead,
then the DROP Alert is too far from a powered DROP component on the DROP device network.
Note: This button can be used at any time to test the alarm.
If you unable to connect to the Hub, try the following options:
1. Move the DROP Hub to a more central location in your home.
2. Move another DROP powered component closer to the DROP
Alert you are trying to connect to.
3. Add a DROP Remote to your network in between the Hub and
the DROP Alert that you are trying to connect to the system.
Slide the DROP Alert down onto the wall plate to lock it in place.

Overview

The DROP Alert is a smart water system device designed to monitor water conditions within a sump basin for high or low water levels. It integrates with the DROP system App to send notifications when an alarm condition is detected.

Function Description:

The primary function of the DROP Alert is to detect high or low water levels in a sump basin. When an alarm condition is met, the device activates its alarm and sends a notification through the user's DROP system App. It also monitors its connection to the Hub and reports its status regularly. The device can detect significant temperature changes or when the temperature surpasses a set point, reporting these events immediately to the Hub.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: Primarily powered by a 12VDC power supply.
  • Battery Backup: Equipped with battery backup using two AA batteries for operation during power failures.
  • Communication: Communicates with the DROP Hub.
  • Reporting Frequency: Reports to the Hub every minute when externally powered and every 10 minutes on battery power.
  • Alarm Indicators: Features a green "okay" check mark light for successful communication and a red "no network" light for connection issues.
  • Battery Status: A low battery light will flash and chirp once a minute (outside "Quiet Time" hours) when battery power is low.

Usage Features:

  • Installation:
    • Enclosure: Select an indoor mounting location near the sump basin. Use the provided wall plate as a template for screw locations. Anchors are supplied for mounting on masonry walls or if screws do not align with wall studs.
    • Device Pairing: The device must be added to the DROP Hub via the System / Advanced page in the App by tapping "Add Device Components." A 5-minute countdown will begin.
    • Battery Insertion: Install the two AA batteries provided into the back of the DROP Alert, observing polarity.
    • Float Switch: Mount the float and float switch bracket to the discharge pipe using the provided stainless-steel pipe clamp, adjusting to the desired activation level. Tighten the hose clamp with a screwdriver.
    • Sensor Connection: Plug the float sensor cord into the bottom of the DROP Alert unit.
    • Power Connection: Plug the power connector into the DC power cable plug and the other end into a wall outlet.
    • Locking in Place: Slide the DROP Alert down onto the wall plate to lock it in place.
  • Alarm Testing: The "Check/Silence" button can be used at any time to test the alarm.
  • Connectivity Troubleshooting: If unable to connect to the Hub (indicated by a red no network light), users can:
    1. Move the DROP Hub to a more central location.
    2. Move another DROP powered component closer to the DROP Alert.
    3. Add a DROP Remote to the network between the Hub and the DROP Alert.
  • Notifications: When the DROP Alert misses a check-in, the network light will flash until it reconnects. If it fails to check in for an hour, the Hub will send a notification that the DROP Alert has lost connection. A low battery notification will also be sent by the DROP system.

Maintenance Features:

  • Factory Reset:
    • Prerequisite: Before performing a factory reset, it is recommended to remove the DROP Alert as a device from any DROP system it may be attached to. This is done via a local connection in the App by navigating to SYSTEM > ADVANCED page, finding the DROP Alert in the "Manage Device Components" list, and pressing the "Remove" button.
    • Procedure: To reset the device and clear its network memory, press and hold the button while inserting the batteries. Continue holding for 15 seconds. During this time, all lights will be solid. After 15 seconds, the lights will begin flashing once per second, indicating the device is armed for reset. Release the button, then press it again to complete the reset of the leak detector.
