The DSE4510 & DSE4520 modules are part of the DSEGenset® range of products from Deep Sea Electronics PLC, designed to provide varying levels of functionality across a common platform for generator control. These modules allow operators to start and stop generators and, if required, transfer the load to the generator either manually or automatically. The DSE4520 variant specifically handles automatic mains (utility) failure detection and generator set control.
Function Description
The DSE45xx module monitors the engine, indicating operational status and fault conditions. It automatically shuts down the engine and displays the true first-up fault condition on its LCD display. Key features include:
- Icon-based LCD display: Provides clear visual feedback of system parameters and status.
- True RMS Voltage, Current, and Power monitoring: Ensures accurate measurement of electrical parameters. (Note: Current and Power monitoring are not available on DSE45xx-01 and DSE45xx-31 variants).
- USB Communications: Allows connection to a PC for configuration and control.
- Engine parameter monitoring: Tracks essential engine data.
- Fully configurable inputs: Can be set up for various alarm conditions or other functions.
- Engine ECU interface: Enables communication with electronic engines.
The module's integral front panel configuration editor allows for adjustment of operational sequences, timers, alarms, and other parameters. Critical operational sequences and timers can be protected by a security code, and module access can be further secured by a PIN code.
