bleeder
screw
operation
When
the
bleeder
screw
is
turned
in
the
"OPEN"
direction
(counter
-clockwise),
it
permits
the
oil
pressure
to
force
the
bleeder
screw
ball
up
off
its
seat
and
the
oil
can
then
flow
through
a
horizontal
passageway
back
into
the
reservoir.
The
discharge
ball
remains
closed
and
the
bleeder
screw
valve,
in
effect,
allows
the
high
pressure
oil
to
by-pass
the
discharge
valve
and
return
to
the
reservoir.
When
the
bleeder
screw
is
turned
in
the
"CLOSE"
direction
(clockwise),
the
flow
of
the
high
pressure
oil
towards
the
reservoir
is
completely
blocked
and
the
oil
is
held
in
the
ram
until
such
time
that
the
bleeder
screw
is
again
opened.

-HP
hydraulic
pump
The
HP
-150
Hydraulic
Pump
is
a
two
-speed,
hydraulic
pump
which
has
a
resevoir
capacity
of
150
cu.
in.
of
usable
hydraulic
oil.
It
has
a
2

1
pump
plunger.
The
larger
plunger
(1"
diameter)
delivers
oil
only
when
there
is
no
load,
or
very
light
loads,
on
the
ram.
When
the
oil
pressure
exceeds
500
lbs.
per
sq.
in.,
the
low
pressure
relief
valve
opens
and
the
oil
flow
from
the
larger
plunger
cylinder
is
by-passed
back
to
the
reservoir,
and
the
oil
flow
from
the

(

diameter)
high
pressure
cylinder
is
directed
in
the
normal
manner
through
the
discharge
valve
into
the
hydraulic
hose.
Thus,
for
low
pressures
of
500

or
less
both
the

plunger
and

For
higher
pressures
of

and
over,
only
the

diameter
plunger
is
utilized
to
pump
oil
through
the
hose
to
the
ram.
