manual AL VOLUMETRIC
16) LED SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGE
Thanks to 4 led lights in different colours and located under
the volumetric “ALIA” valve display (image 9,D), we can un-
derstand what is the step the softener is in.
Each COLOUR stands for a specific function:
• Green the softener is correctly working
• Red there is an alarm
• White stands for the steps that are under way
• Blinking white indicates date, time and language setting
• Blue stands for a setting step
CAUTION: when the softener is in volumetric mode, and water
is being softened, led lights will progressively change from
green to white.
For instance: 1 white led and 3 green led lights mean that the
softener has used 25% of its operating range; while 2 white
leds and 2 green leds mean that its operating range accounts
for 50%.
Consequently, the following coding holds true:
4 BLINKING GREEN LEDs ... OPERATING/SERVICE
4 BLINKING WHITE LEDs ........ LANGUAGE CHOICE
4 BLINKING WHITE LEDs ........ SETTING DATE AND TIME
4 SEQUENTIAL WHITE LEDs .... .RESIN RINSE (B3 for 5 minu-
tes)
4 SEQUENTIAL GREEN LEDs ... *R* (REGENERATION)
1) TIMER SETTINGS:
1 BLINKING BLUE LED ..... CHOOSE VOLUMETRIC MODE
YES-NO
1 BLINKING BLUE LED ..... REGENERATION DAY
1 BLINKING BLUE LED ..... REGENERATION DAYS
INTERVAL
2 BLINKING BLUE LEDs ..... REGENERATION TIME
3 BLINKING BLUE LEDs ..... CHOOSE MODEL 5, 8, 12
3 BLINKING BLUE LEDs ..... EXTRA-RINSE
4 BLINKING BLUE LEDs ..... CHOOSE SALT ALARM
4 BLINKING BLUE LEDs ..... CHOOSE BUZZER
2) INSTALLATION:
2 STEADY WHITE LEDs ..... B3 COUNTERCURRENT RINSE
4 STEADY WHITE LEDs ..... B7 1ST REFILL AND RAPID
WASH
3 STEADY WHITE LEDs ..... B5 SUCKING
4 STEADY WHITE LEDs ..... B7 2° REFILL AND RAPID
WASH
3) RESIN REGENERATION:
2 STEADY BLUE LEDs ...... B3 COUNTERCURRENT RINSE
3 STEADY BLUE LEDs ...... B5 SUCKING
4 STEADY BLUE LEDs ...... B7 REFILL AND RAPID WASH
4) ALARMS:
4 BLINKING RED LEDs ..... SALT ALARM TRIGGERED
1 STEADY RED LED ....... ERROR 1
2 STEADY RED LEDs ...... ERROR 2
3 STEADY RED LEDs ...... REPLACE BATTERY
17) CONNECTION TO EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT
The ALIA valve can send signals to external equipment via the
connections showed in Fig.8, O, M.
Technical connection data are the following:
- connector “O” is based on the MOD BUS RTU protocol (RS
232 external serial connector) (Fig. 8, O).
- connector “M” is used to communicate whether salt is
present in the tank via ON/OFF signals (Fig. 8, M).
