Why is steam being emitted from the emergency vent of my Earlex STEAM CADDY IS2000 Steam Cleaner?

  The pressure relief valve is operating because of a steam blockage. Switch off the unit and allow it to cool for at least 5 minutes. Check all steam holes in the attachment and nozzle connections in the handle and extension tubes to ensure no debris or lime-scale prevents steam from passing through. Clean accordingly. To avoid lime-scale build-up, use cooled, boiled water when filling the water tank.

  If the unit fails to boil, check that the mains is switched on and the switch on the unit has also been operated - the push button will illuminate. Also, check the fuse in the plug and any extension lead that is in use.
