What to do if the Eaton MDS-632 circuit breaker trips open?
    • R
      Richard TerryAug 7, 2025
If the Eaton Power Tool circuit breaker trips open, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the rating plug is installed and corresponds to the current sensors. If the breaker trips repeatedly due to transient current, allow the breaker and loads to cool before re-closing. Finally, an overload or fault current condition may be present. Use the status and fault indicators to locate and remove the overload or fault.

Why does my Eaton Power Tool circuit breaker open if the fault trip indicator button is not out?

      Gary DelgadoAug 21, 2025
If your Eaton Power Tool circuit breaker opens and the fault trip indicator button is not out, several factors could be at play. It might be due to undervoltage release operation; in this case, check and correct the UVR supply voltage to be within 85-110% of the rated voltage. Alternatively, the shunt trip may be operating, so check the control signals to the shunt trip and correct if necessary. If neither of these is the cause, the trip latch may be defective, so inspect its condition and engagement before closing.
