This document is the instruction manual for the Echelon® ROW-s, a fitness rowing machine designed for home use. It provides comprehensive information on safety, assembly, account creation, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The Echelon® ROW-s is an exercise rower that integrates with the Echelon Fit App, offering a fitness experience with live and on-demand classes. It is designed to provide a full-body workout, allowing users to engage in strength and fitness programs. The rower features adjustable resistance and footrests to accommodate different body types and workout preferences. It can be folded for storage and moved easily.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Weight Limit: 300 pounds (136 kg). Users exceeding this weight limit should not use the Echelon® ROW-s.
- Minimum Clearance Dimensions: 0.6 m (24 in.) on at least one side, and 0.5 m (19.7 in.) either behind or in front of the exercise rower for safe mounting and dismounting.

Usage Features:
- Account Creation: Users need to create an account on member.echelonfit.com, choose a purchase location, select a plan (Monthly, 1 Year, or 2 Year), and set up a payment method. This account is used to log in to the Echelon Fit™ App.
- Adjustable Resistance: The rower features toggles to increase (right toggle) or decrease (left toggle) the resistance level, allowing users to customize their workout intensity.
- Adjustable Footrest: The footrest can be adjusted by pushing down on a red locking mechanism and then sliding the black adjustment up or down to secure the feet.
- Folding Mechanism: The rail can be lifted until a click is heard to securely lock it in the folded position for storage. To lower the rail, the foot pedal at the joint is pressed, and the rail is gently lowered to the ground.
- Handlebar Holder: The handlebar should always be placed on its holder before dismounting or taking feet off the pedals.
- Screen Mount: The arm with the screen mount can be adjusted to the user's desired level.
- Tablet Integration: The device includes a tablet for accessing classes and content via the Echelon Fit App. The tablet arm connects via USB and power cords.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The Echelon® ROW-s should be wiped down with a soft rag, mild detergent, or water after each use to keep it sanitary. Corrosive chemical liquids should not be used as they may damage the cover.
- Regular Checks: Users should regularly check the seat, handlebars, pedals, and woven strap for secure fastening and good condition. Any worn or defective parts should be reported to Echelon® customer service (cs@echelonfit.com).
- Battery Maintenance: The instruction manual includes steps for removing the battery activation strip and notes that if the strip tears, the cover and battery should be removed.
- Professional Repair: If the appliance is damaged or not working properly, it should be returned to a service center for examination and repair.
- Power Disconnection: Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after use and before cleaning or servicing.
- Children and Pets: Keep children under the age of 13 and pets away from the machine and moving parts at all times to prevent serious injury.
- Physical Condition: Before starting any fitness program, consult with a physician or health official. Users are advised to answer a series of health-related questions (e.g., recent sickness, dizziness, chest pain, injuries, pregnancy, age over 35 and inactive, doctor's advice against exercise) and seek medical advice if any answer is "YES."
- Proper Use:
- Always use the rower on solid, level ground in a well-lit and ventilated area.
- Ensure the rower is properly/completely assembled and not damaged before use.
- Wear proper attire, including footwear that fully covers the feet. Long hair should be tied back, and shoelaces tucked in.
- Warm up/stretch before exercising.
- Be cautious when mounting and dismounting, moving the seat to its lowest position and coming to a complete stop.
- Never stand or climb on the seat or rail.
- Keep hands away from moving parts and ensure they are on the rubber handlebar grip.
- Do not overexert; stop immediately if feeling faint, dizzy, short of breath, or experiencing chest/other pains, and consult a physician.
- Stay hydrated with at least 12 oz. of water and have a towel nearby.
- Never use the rower in a standing position.
- Keep the pelvis positioned over the center line of the rower.
- Never let the handle fly into the cover.
- Do not twist the woven strap or pull the handle from side to side.
- Do not row with one hand only.
- Do not extend the woven strap past the yellow warning line from the cover.
- Be aware that the seat may roll forward on the rail when not in use.
- Do not use accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not operate the appliance with air openings blocked.
- Do not drop or insert any object into openings.
- Do not use outdoors or where aerosol products are used, or oxygen is administered.
- Do not operate electrically powered equipment in damp or wet locations.
- Never use the Echelon® ROW-s in a standing position.
- Electrical Safety:
- Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in.
- Do not operate under a blanket or pillow to prevent overheating, fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Do not carry the appliance by the supply cord.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Ensure the power cable is routed through the cable routing clips.
- FCC/ISED Compliance: The device complies with FCC and ISED regulations regarding radio frequency interference and radiation exposure. It must be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between the radiator and the user's body.
