CLEANING BLADES
(After Each Use)
Remove gummy residue from blades with a 50 - 50
mixture of kerosene (paraffin) and machine oil.
CAUTION
If you experience any problems with sharpening
the blade, we recommend that you take it to you
ECHO dealer.
NOTE
Use a disk grinder, endless abrasive belt, or smooth
flat file.
SHARPENING BLADES
(As Needed)
1. Remove all nuts and bolts securing cutters to frame
bar.
2. Remove cutters.
3. Hold a cutter in a vice.
4. File and reshape the cutter edges as shown.
5. If frame bar is deformed or damaged, replace with
new one.
(A): 6 mm radius
(B): 100° (Approx.)
(C): 40° to 43°
NOTE
Wear gloves to protect hands from sharp blades.
LUBRICATING GEAR HOUSING
(Every 10 Hours of Operation)
1. Clean dirt from grease fitting.
2. Carefully pump grease in fitting.
DO NOT force grease.
Too much pressure will force grease past seals and
cause damage.
Apply 1-2 pumps of grease every 10 hours of
operation.
NOTE
Use good quality lithium multi grease.
LUBRICATING BLADES
(Every 4 Hours of Operation)
Apply a few drops of oil the each bolt slots at the
bottom of blades.
