Overview

The RadonEye is a digital radon gas monitor designed to provide accurate and timely measurements of indoor radon levels. Developed by Ecosense, it aims to offer maximum indoor air awareness and safety for families.

Function Description:

The RadonEye is a digital radon gas monitor that detects naturally occurring radioactive radon gas, which emanates from the breakdown of uranium and radium in soil and rock. It uses a dual-channel pulsed ion chamber system with a highly accurate detection circuit to measure radon levels. The device provides real-time radon level readings, with the first result available in 10 minutes and a reliable average result within an hour. It is designed to be more accurate than other home monitors, boasting an industry-leading radon counting efficiency of 30 counts per hour per pCi/L, making it 15 times more sensitive than the industry standard. The quick response of the sensor allows users to monitor radon level fluctuations in real-time. The device can be easily set up and connected to a user's smartphone via Bluetooth for data viewing, logging, and analysis through the Ecosense RadonEye app. It features a built-in OLED display that shows the last measurement taken and scrolls through averages over longer periods. The monitor is intended for indoor use only and can trigger an integrated audio alarm if radon levels exceed the EPA action level of 4 pCi/L (148 Bq/m³), provided the alarm is enabled.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Radon Level Reading: The main reading on the LED display shows the current radon level.
  • Environmental Conditions: For accurate measurements, windows and doors should be closed.
  • Alarm Functionality: An audible alarm sounds if the measured radon result exceeds 4 pCi/L (148 Bq/m³) and the alarm is enabled.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Use a dry cloth to clean the product.
  • Environmental Precautions:
    • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight for long periods.
    • Avoid exposure to direct heat sources.
    • Ensure the product operates within the specified temperature range (32°F~104°F / 0~40°C) and humidity (RH < 80%).
    • Exposure to high humidity might permanently alter the product sensitivity or damage it.
  • Disassembly: Do not disassemble the product. If the product does not work as specified or if there are doubts, users should contact their local dealer or visit ecosense.io for support.
