NEW FEATURES
If you have used products from the EDAC range in the past, you may be interested in the
improvements made to the new model.
I/O Status LEDs
Four LED lights have been added to the product to facilitate easy viewing of the state of the
I/Os. When an input LED is on, the corresponding input is low. When an input LED is off, the
corresponding input is in a high state. When an output LED is off the corresponding output is
on, and when an output LED is on the corresponding output is off.
Earth Discharge Circuit
The EDAC 222-02 now has a separate Earth Discharge Circuit, which is used to protect the
EDAC 222-02 and any attached equipment from lightning strikes and other external high
voltage transients, which may travel down the telephone line. The Earth Discharge Point is
located on the front right PCB screw.
NOTE: The Earth Discharge circuit must be connected to a switch board earth point
(earth buss bar) for proper surge protection.
Acknowledge Relay
The Acknowledge relay seen on earlier versions of the EDAC 222-02 has been removed from
this version of the product. If you have a specific need for this feature please contact your
distributor.
