The EGO 56-Volt Battery is a lithium-ion power source designed for EGO Power+ lawn and garden equipment. It is available in multiple capacities: 2.5Ah (BA1400T), 4.0Ah (BA2240T), 5.0Ah (BA2800T), 7.5Ah (BA4200T), and 10.0Ah (BA5600T), all operating at a nominal voltage of 50.4V. The battery packs are identified by designations such as 14INR19/66 & 14INR19/65 for the 2.5Ah model, 14INR22/70 for the 4.0Ah model, and so on for the higher capacities. The weights vary from 1.30kg for the 2.5Ah battery to 3.50kg for the 10.0Ah battery.

Function Description:

The EGO 56-Volt Battery provides portable power to compatible EGO Power+ cordless tools. It features an integrated 5-LED indicator that displays the charge level and working condition of the battery. Pressing the power button illuminates these LEDs for 10 seconds, allowing users to quickly check the battery status. The battery circuitry includes protection against extreme temperatures, over-discharge, and over-charge to prevent damage and prolong its lifespan.

Usage Features:

The 5-LED indicator provides clear visual feedback on the battery's status:

80% - 100% Charge: 5 green LEDs shining solid.
60% - <80% Charge: 4 green LEDs shining solid.
40% - <60% Charge: 3 green LEDs shining solid.
20% - <40% Charge: 2 green LEDs shining solid.
10% - <20% Charge: 1 green LED shining solid.
<10% Charge: 1 red LED flashing.
Low Voltage: All 5 LEDs flash red, indicating the battery is nearly depleted and needs immediate charging.
Over Temperature: All 5 LEDs shine red, indicating the battery is too hot and needs to cool down below 67°C. The battery will shut down if its operating temperature exceeds 70°C and will resume normal operation when it returns to 67°C.
Self-Maintenance (for BA1400T/BA2800T/BA4200T/BA5600T): During storage, if the battery performs self-maintenance to extend its life, 5 LEDs may shine solid red for 10 seconds, then go out for 10 seconds, then shine solid red for another 10 seconds, or 5 LEDs may flash green every two seconds, depending on the battery version. This cycle continues until self-maintenance is complete. The BA2240T model does not have a special indicator for this function.
Cold Weather Operation: The battery performs optimally between 10°C and 26°C. If very cold, it may "pulse" for the first minute of use to warm up. Users should place the battery on a tool and use it in a light application until it warms up and operates normally.
Charging: Lithium-ion battery packs are shipped partially charged and should be fully charged before first use. They can be charged at any time without developing a "memory effect" and do not need to be fully discharged before recharging. The power indicator helps determine when recharging is needed.
Self-Maintenance Function: To extend battery life, the battery automatically performs a self-discharge operation after one month of storage if the charge level allows. After this, it enters sleep mode, maintaining 30% of its charge capacity. If stored for a month or longer, it should be fully recharged before the next use (not applicable to BA2240T, which uses different advanced technology).

Maintenance Features:

General Cleaning: Avoid using solvents on plastic parts. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, and grease. Do not allow brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or penetrating oils to contact plastic parts, as these chemicals can damage or destroy plastic.
Storage: For storage longer than 30 days, keep the battery in a dry location below 26°C, with a charge level between 30% and 50%. Fully charge the battery every six months during storage.
Disposal/Recycling: Do not dispose of battery chargers or rechargeable batteries with household waste, in fire, or water. They must be collected separately and disposed of in an environmentally correct manner according to local regulations (European laws 2012/19/EU and 2006/66/EC). When removing the battery pack for disposal or recycling, cover its terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape to prevent short circuits. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble the battery pack.
Repairs: All repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician using only identical EGO replacement parts to ensure safety and reliability.
Compressed Air Cleaning: While not recommended, if compressed air is the only cleaning method, always wear safety goggles or glasses with side shields, and a dust mask if the operation is dusty.
