This document is the installation manual for EHS Combination and System Boilers, which are electric heating systems designed for residential and commercial use. The manual emphasizes that these boilers are "Heating for the Renewable Future."
Function Description:
The EHS Combination and System Boilers are electric heating systems designed to provide both central heating and domestic hot water. The combination boiler provides instantaneous hot water, while the system boiler works with a separate hot water cylinder. These boilers are suitable for various applications, including underfloor heating systems and traditional radiator systems. They are designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, aligning with the concept of renewable heating. The boilers feature a digital display and controls for setting temperature, timing, and operating modes (e.g., Summer mode, Winter mode, Anti-freezing function). They are equipped with safety features such as fault protection and automatic bypass valves.
Important Technical Specifications:
The boilers are available in various power outputs: 6kW, 8kW, 12kW, and 14kW.

Usage Features:
The boiler features a user-friendly digital display and control panel.
- On/Off Toggle: Press the power button to switch between winter and summer modes.
- Menu Navigation: Use the menu button to access various functions.
- Parameter Adjustment: Up and down arrow buttons are used to increase or decrease function parameters.
- Daily Timer: A 24-hour timing menu allows users to set specific operating times.
- Confirmation/Exit: A checkmark button confirms settings or exits a menu.
- Display Indicators: Icons indicate actual temperature, water pump operation status, hot water/shower status, heating status, and winter mode.
- Fault Protection: The system includes a fault protection icon and displays fault codes for troubleshooting.
- Heating Flow Temperature Setting: The default temperature is 65°C, but it can be adjusted between 30°C and 80°C for radiator systems and 30°C and 55°C for underfloor heating systems.
- Flow Differential Setting: The flow differential temperature can be set between 5°C and 20°C.
- Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Flow & Temperature: The boiler can adjust the hot water temperature based on user settings, with recommended flow rates provided for different power outputs.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the EHS boilers.
- Flushing: The primary heating circuit must be flushed according to BS7593 to remove debris. The system must be filled with 10% mains PPM or lower.
- Heating System Fill: A WRAS approved filling loop must be used. The boiler must be filled with water and pressure checked.
- Hot Water System Fill: The cold-water supply to the boiler must be opened, and air purged from the hot water circuit.
- Magnetic Filter: An inline magnetic filter should be fitted on the return side of the heating circuit to protect the boiler from debris.
- Drain Point: A drain point should be fitted at the lowest point of the heating system.
- Electrical Connections: All electrical connections must be made by a fully qualified electrician, and the boiler must be connected to the mains power whilst the boiler is dry.
- Thermostat Connections: The boiler can be controlled by an external thermostat or a programmable thermostat.
- Warranty: The boiler comes with a 5-year warranty for parts and labour, provided it is installed by a qualified plumber and registered within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so will invalidate the warranty.
- Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section with error codes, potential causes, and solutions for common issues like electrical leakage, dry fire protection, water pressure fault, and no water flow.
- Annual Servicing: Regular servicing is recommended to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential issues early.
- Magnetic Filter Cleaning: A magnetic filter requires to be installed on the return of every Boiler. This must be cleaned at every yearly service.
