Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your compressor. It is crucial to read and understand all safety regulations and instructions before using the equipment to prevent injuries, damage, electrical shock, fire, or serious injury. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference and ensure it is passed on to any other person who uses the equipment.

Function Description

The compressor is designed to generate compressed air for use with various compressed air-driven tools. It operates by drawing in ambient air, compressing it, and storing it in a pressure tank for later use. The compressed air can then be regulated to a specific pressure suitable for different applications. The equipment is intended for its prescribed purpose only; any other use is considered misuse, and the user/operator will be liable for any resulting damage or injuries. Please note that this equipment is not designed for commercial, trade, or industrial applications, and its warranty will be voided if used for such purposes.

Usage Features

The compressor is equipped with several features to ensure efficient and safe operation:

  • Intake Air Filter (1): This filter prevents dust and dirt from being drawn into the compressor, protecting internal components. It requires regular cleaning to maintain optimal performance.
  • Pressure Tank (2): This tank stores the compressed air. Its capacity is specified in the technical data. Regular drainage of condensed water from this tank is essential for its longevity.
  • Non-Return Valve (3): This valve ensures that compressed air flows in one direction, preventing backflow into the compressor pump.
  • Foot (4): Provides stability for the compressor during operation.
  • Quick-Lock Coupling (5): This coupling allows for quick and easy connection of compressed air tools, delivering regulated compressed air.
  • Pressure Gauge (6): Displays the set pressure, allowing users to monitor and adjust it as needed.
  • Pressure Regulator (7): Used to adjust the output pressure of the compressed air to suit the requirements of the connected tools.
  • ON/OFF Switch (8): Controls the power to the compressor. Pulling it out switches the compressor on, and pressing it in switches it off.
  • Transport Handle (9): Facilitates easy transportation of the compressor.
  • Safety Valve (10): A crucial safety feature that releases excess pressure if it exceeds the maximum permitted level, preventing damage to the pressure vessel. It is factory-set and should never be adjusted or tampered with.
  • Drainage Screw for Condensation Water (11): Located at the bottom of the pressure tank, this screw allows for the manual drainage of condensed water, which accumulates during operation.
  • Overload Switch (12): Protects the motor from overheating by automatically switching off the compressor if it overloads.

Before Starting the Equipment:

Before connecting the compressor to the power supply, verify that the data on the rating plate matches the supply voltage. Inspect the equipment for any transit damage and report it immediately if found. Install the compressor close to the point of consumption, avoiding long air lines and extension cables. Ensure the intake air is dry and dust-free, and do not install the compressor in damp or wet rooms. The compressor should only be used in well-ventilated rooms with an ambient temperature between +5 °C and 40 °C, free from dust, acids, vapors, explosive, or inflammable gases. The compressor is designed for dry rooms; using it in areas with sprayed water is prohibited. Always operate the equipment on a firm, level surface. Use flexible hoses to prevent transmitting unacceptable loads to the pipeline system. Install separators, traps, and drains to process liquids produced by the compressor before putting the system into operation. Supply hoses at pressures above 7 bar should be equipped with a safety cable.

Assembly and Starting:

The appliance must be fully assembled before its first use.

  • Fitting the Air Filter (1): Remove the transportation cover from the air filter connection using a screwdriver and screw in the supplied air filter.
  • Power Supply: The motor includes an overload switch (12). If the compressor overloads, this switch will automatically turn off the equipment to prevent overheating. If triggered, switch off the compressor using the ON/OFF switch (8), allow it to cool down, then press the overload switch (12) and restart. Long supply cables, extensions, or cable reels can cause voltage drops and impede motor start-up. Low temperatures (below +5°C) can also make starting difficult.
  • On/Off Switch (8): Pull out the switch to turn on the compressor, and press it in to turn it off.
  • Setting the Pressure (Fig. 1,2): Adjust the pressure using the pressure regulator (7), monitoring the setting on the pressure gauge (6). The set pressure is drawn from the quick-lock coupling (5).
  • Pressure Switch: The pressure switch is factory-set to cut in at approximately 6 bar and cut out at approximately 8 bar.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for the longevity and safe operation of your compressor. Always pull out the power plug before performing any cleaning or maintenance work. Wait until the compressor has completely cooled down to avoid burns. Always depressurize the tank before any cleaning or maintenance. After use, always switch off the equipment and pull out the power plug.

  • Cleaning: Keep all safety devices, air vents, and the motor housing free of dirt and dust. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure. Clean the device immediately after each use. Use a moist cloth and some soft soap for regular cleaning; avoid cleaning agents or solvents that could damage plastic parts. Ensure no water seeps into the device, as this increases the risk of electric shock. Disconnect hoses and spraying tools before cleaning. Do not clean the compressor with water or similar liquids.
  • Condensed Water (Fig. 1): To ensure a long service life for the pressure vessel (2), drain off condensed water by opening the drain plug (11) after each use. Regularly check the pressure vessel for signs of rust and damage. Do not use a damaged or rusty pressure vessel; contact customer service if damage is found.
  • Safety Valve (10): The safety valve is set for the highest permitted pressure and must not be adjusted. Actuate the safety valve periodically to ensure it functions correctly. Pull the ring with sufficient force until compressed air is released, then release it.
  • Cleaning the Intake Filter (1): The intake filter prevents dust and dirt from entering the compressor. Clean this filter after every 300 hours of operation. A clogged filter significantly reduces compressor performance. Open the air filter housing, use compressed air at low pressure (approx. 3 bar) to blow out all parts of the filter, and then reassemble it. Take precautions against dust (e.g., wear a face mask) during cleaning.
  • Storage: Pull the mains plug, ventilate the appliance and all connected pneumatic tools. Switch off the compressor and secure it to prevent unauthorized start-up. Store the compressor in a dry location inaccessible to unauthorized persons, always upright, never tilted.

Troubleshooting:

The manual includes a table of possible causes of failure and their corresponding solutions, covering issues such as the compressor not starting, starting but not building pressure, or starting with pressure but tools not operating.

Service Information:

Competent service partners are available in all countries listed on the guarantee certificate for repairs, spare parts, and consumables. Note that wear parts (e.g., V-belt, air filter) and consumables are subject to normal wear and tear and may not be included in the scope of delivery. For defects or faults, register the problem online at www.isc-gmbh.info, providing a precise description and answering questions about the defect's onset, symptoms, and nature.

Warranty Certificate:

All products undergo strict quality checks. In case of a fault, contact the service department. Warranty terms apply to consumers only, covering defects due to material or manufacturing faults, limited to rectification or replacement. The warranty is void if the device is used for commercial, trade, or industrial purposes. Damage from incorrect assembly, operating instructions, maintenance, abnormal environmental conditions, abuse, foreign bodies, force, or normal wear and tear is not covered. The guarantee is valid for 24 months from the purchase date; claims must be submitted within two weeks of noticing a defect. Repairs do not extend the guarantee period. Register defective devices online and retain proof of purchase. Devices without proof of purchase or a rating plate will not be covered. A chargeable repair service is available for issues not covered by the warranty. Refer to service information for restrictions on wear parts, consumables, and missing parts.
