This document provides assembly instructions and specifications for ELAC Adante Series speaker stands, specifically the ABST-101-BK Speaker Stand and ACST-101-BK Center Channel Stand. These stands are designed to provide stable support for ELAC Adante bookshelf and center channel speakers, enhancing their performance and integration into a home audio system.

Function Description:

The ELAC Adante speaker stands serve as a stable and aesthetically pleasing platform for ELAC Adante bookshelf and center channel speakers. Their primary function is to elevate speakers to an optimal listening height, which is crucial for accurate sound reproduction and imaging. The stands are engineered to minimize vibrations that could negatively impact sound quality, ensuring that the speakers deliver their best-in-class performance. The design incorporates features like spikes for stability on uneven or carpeted surfaces and a wire run hole for discreet cable management, contributing to a clean and organized setup. The robust construction, utilizing brushed black aluminum and painted black steel, ensures durability and complements the design of the Adante speakers.

Both models share a common construction philosophy, emphasizing heavy-duty components for stability. The assembly involves mounting center posts to a steel bottom plate, followed by attaching a top plate. Spikes are provided for leveling and stability, with floor discs included for use on hard surfaces to prevent damage.

Usage Features:

Assembly: The stands require assembly using a Phillips head screwdriver. The instructions detail a step-by-step process, starting with attaching center posts to the bottom plate, then the top plate. For the ABST-101-BK, the center post with the wire run hole should face the rear with the hole on top. For the ACST-101-BK, the same applies to the center posts.
Stability and Leveling: The stands are equipped with spikes that can be adjusted to level the stand on uneven floors or to penetrate carpet for increased stability. For hard surfaces (wood, tile), provided floor discs must be used under the spikes to protect the floor. To adjust spikes, the top cap and lower locking disc are loosened, the spikes are turned until the stand is level and stable, and then the locking disc and top cap are tightened.
Speaker Mounting: Once the stand is assembled and leveled, the Adante bookshelf or center channel speaker is placed on the top plate and securely attached using supplied screws. For the center channel stand, center speaker levelers (included with the Adante Center Speaker) are placed on the top plate and aligned with the speaker mounting holes before attaching the speaker. It is highly recommended to use a second person for this step due to the weight of the speaker and stand, ensuring the speaker does not fall.
Cable Management: The center posts include a wire run hole, allowing for discreet routing of speaker cables, contributing to a tidy setup.
Safety Precautions: Users are advised to read and follow all safety instructions. The parts of the stand are heavy, so caution is necessary during assembly. Spikes are sharp, requiring careful handling to prevent injuries. The stand must be assembled according to instructions and placed on a level surface. Stability is paramount; improper use of spikes or an unlevel setup can compromise stability, potentially causing the speaker to tip over. For slippery floors, Velcro fastening tape or double-sided adhesive tape can be used to increase stability.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning: The stands should be cleaned only with a soft, smooth cloth or a dust brush. Harsh cleaning agents such as scouring agents, alcohol, benzene, furniture polish, or other similar agents should not be used, as they may damage the finish.
Inspection: Before each use, the stand should be checked for any damage. Any damaged parts should be addressed immediately, as they could lead to personal injury or compromise the stand's stability.
Storage: The manual advises keeping the instructions safe for future reference, implying that proper assembly and maintenance guidance will always be available.

Warranty Information:

ELAC Americas Inc. provides a North America Limited Liability Warranty for speaker stands, covering defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of 5 (Five) years from the original date of purchase. During this period, repair or replacement of parts is free for the original owner, though shipping costs to and from the repair center are the purchaser's responsibility. The warranty is valid only for products purchased from an authorized ELAC Americas Inc. dealer and used in home applications within specified power ratings. It does not cover commercial use, modified or altered products, abused products, or products with defaced or removed serial numbers. For service, customers should contact ELAC America and provide proof of purchase. For warranty claims outside of North America, customers should contact their local dealer/distributor.
