Do you have a question about the Electrolux EFL90566ox and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the Electrolux Cooker Hood, model EFL90566OX, a kitchen appliance designed to eliminate cooking odors.

Function Description

The cooker hood operates with a motor and a lighting system, controlled by a series of buttons.

  • T1 (Motor): Turns the motor off.
  • T2 (Speed): Turns the motor on at Speed one. The button lights up continuously.
  • T3 (Speed): Turns the motor on at Speed two. The button lights up continuously.
  • T4 (Speed): When pressed briefly, turns the motor on at Speed three. The button lights up continuously. When pressed for 2 seconds, the button flashes and activates Speed four with a timer set to 10 minutes. After this period, the system returns to the previously set speed. This function is suitable for dealing with maximum levels of cooking fumes.
  • L (Light): Turns the lighting system on and off. The button lights up continuously.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual emphasizes several safety and installation requirements:

  • Minimum Safety Distance: The minimum safety distance between the hob and the cooker hood must be 650 mm. Some models may be installed at a lower height; refer to the "footprint and installation" section for details.
  • Electrical Connection: Ensure that the mains voltage matches the value indicated on the rating plate inside the hood. For Class I appliances, ensure that the domestic electrical system has effective earthing.
  • Ducting: Connect the hood to the exhaust outlet using a duct with a minimum diameter of 120 mm. The duct run should be as short as possible.
  • Ventilation: The hood should not be connected to exhaust ducts carrying combustion gases (from boilers, fireplaces, etc.). If the hood is used simultaneously with non-electric appliances (e.g., gas appliances), sufficient ventilation must be provided in the room to prevent backflow of exhaust gases. If the kitchen does not have an opening communicating with the outside, one should be created to ensure fresh air intake. For proper and safe use, the maximum depression in the room must not exceed 0.04 mbar.
  • Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its technical assistance service to prevent any risk.

Usage Features

The cooker hood is designed exclusively for domestic use to eliminate kitchen odors.

  • Proper Use: Do not use the hood for purposes other than those for which it was designed.
  • Flame Management: Never leave high, uncovered flames under the hood when it is in operation. Always adjust the flames so that they only touch the bottom of the pans and do not extend sideways.
  • Frying: Deep-fat fryers must be continuously monitored during use, as overheated oil can ignite.
  • Flaming Food: Do not flambé food under the hood due to fire risk.
  • User Safety: This appliance should not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
  • Hot Surfaces: Accessible parts can become very hot when used with cooking appliances.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the hood's performance and safety.

  • Before Maintenance: Always switch off the appliance or disconnect it from the mains before performing any maintenance.
  • Filter Maintenance: Filters must be cleaned and/or replaced at the recommended intervals to prevent fire hazards.
    • Active Carbon Filters (W): These filters are not washable or regenerable. They should be replaced approximately every 4 months of use, or more frequently with intensive use.
    • Grease Filters (Z): These filters can be washed in a dishwasher. They should be cleaned approximately every 2 months of use, or more frequently with intensive use.
  • Cleaning Surfaces: To clean the hood surfaces, use a damp cloth and a neutral liquid detergent.
  • Control Lights: If present, control lights should be checked.

The manual also provides information on accessories and consumables available through the Electrolux webshop, and emphasizes environmental protection through recycling. For customer service, users are advised to use original spare parts and have the model, PNC, and serial number ready when contacting support.
