This document is a user manual for an Electrolux extractor hood, model EFP 60466. It provides detailed instructions for installation, use, and maintenance in multiple languages.
The extractor hood is designed exclusively for domestic use, serving to aspirate fumes and vapors resulting from cooking. It can be configured for external evacuation (suction version) or internal recirculation (filtering version).
- Always follow the instructions in the manual to avoid inconveniences, damages, or fires. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for non-compliance.
- Do not connect the appliance to the mains until installation is fully complete.
- Before any cleaning or maintenance, disconnect the hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the main electrical supply.
- Always wear work gloves for installation and maintenance.
- The appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with impaired physical, sensorial, or mental faculties, or if lacking experience or knowledge, unless supervised or trained by a responsible person. Children should be monitored to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Never use the hood without effectively mounted grating.
- The hood must NEVER be used as a support surface unless specifically indicated.
- The premises where the appliance is installed must be sufficiently ventilated when the kitchen hood is used together with other gas combustion devices or other fuels.
- The ducting system for this appliance must not be connected to any existing ventilation system used for other purposes, such as discharging exhaust fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
- Flaming foods beneath the hood is strictly prohibited as it damages filters and poses a fire risk.
- Frying must be done with care to prevent oil from overheating and igniting.
- Accessible parts of the hood may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
- Follow local authority regulations regarding fume discharge.
- The hood must be regularly cleaned (at least once a month) both inside and outside, following the maintenance instructions in this manual. Failure to do so can lead to fire risks.
- Do not use or leave the hood without correctly mounted lamps to avoid electric shock.
Technical Specifications (from general instructions):
- Minimum distance between the supporting surface for cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood: not less than 40cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers. If the gas hob installation instructions specify a greater distance, that must be adhered to.
- Power supply: The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood.
- Lighting: Uses 12 Volt, 20 Watt (Max) halogen lights with a GU4 base (Ø35mm).
Usage Features:
The extractor fan speed and lighting are controlled by the pull-out glass visor.
- When the glass visor is in position (A), the light turns on.
- When the adjuster reaches position (B), the hood motor starts at a low speed.
- As the panel is pulled out further, the speed increases gradually.
- The hood (lights and extraction motor) can be operated by opening and closing the pull-out drawer.
- Opening the drawer to position (A) turns on the lights.
- Opening the drawer further activates the motor at the lowest speed, which increases as the drawer is opened further (position B).
- The intensive speed (position C) is activated at full stroke and runs for 5 minutes, after which the hood operates at the first speed below the intensive one.
- Note: If the hood does not work, ensure the ON/OFF button (located inside the hood, accessible by removing the grease filter) is in the ON position.
- It is recommended to use the high suction speed for concentrated kitchen vapors.
- Switch on the cooker hood suction 5 minutes prior to cooking and leave it on for approximately 15 minutes after cooking is finished.
Maintenance Features:
- General Cleaning: The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly (at least once a month) both internally and externally. Use a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive products or alcohol.
- Grease Filter: The grease filter must be cleaned once a month using non-aggressive detergents, either by hand or in a dishwasher (low temperature, short cycle). Discoloration may occur in the dishwasher, but it does not affect filtering capacity.
- Washable Activated Charcoal Filter (for recirculation models): The charcoal filter can be washed once every two months using hot water and a suitable detergent, or in a dishwasher at 65°C (full cycle, no dishes). Remove excess water without damaging the filter, then dry it completely in an oven for 10 minutes at 100°C. Replace the mattress every 3 years or when the cloth is damaged.
- Lighting Maintenance: Disconnect the hood from electricity. Ensure bulbs are cool before touching them. Replace with new 12 Volt, 20 Watt (Max) halogen lights with a GU4 base (Ø35mm), taking care not to touch them with bare hands.
