If the flame extinguishes immediately after ignition, several factors could be at play. First, check that the hob is correctly connected to the electrical supply. Another potential cause is a blown fuse, which, if recurring, suggests contacting a qualified electrician. Ensure the burner cap and crown are correctly placed. Insufficient heating of the thermocouple could also be the reason; try keeping the knob pushed for equal or less than 10 seconds after lighting the flame. Lastly, ensure the injector is not blocked and the burner crown is clean.
