Do you have a question about the Electrolux EIV64453 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the Electrolux EIV64453 induction hob, a built-in cooking appliance designed for domestic use. It features two cooking areas, with a flexible induction zone composed of four sections on the left side, and two standard induction zones on the right. The appliance is operated via sensor fields on a control panel, with displays, indicators, and acoustic signals providing feedback on active functions.

Function Description:

The EIV64453 hob offers various cooking functions, including:

  • On/Off: Activates and deactivates the appliance.
  • Pause: Activates and deactivates the pause function, setting all active cooking zones to the lowest heat setting.
  • Timer: Sets a countdown timer for a specific cooking zone or a minute minder.
  • PowerBoost: Provides additional power to induction cooking zones for a limited period, automatically reverting to the highest heat setting afterward.
  • Flex Bridge (Flexible Bridge): Allows combining the four sections of the flexible induction cooking area into two different-sized cooking zones or one large cooking area. Three modes are available: Standard, Big Bridge, and Max Bridge.
  • PowerSlide: Enables temperature adjustment by moving cookware to different positions within the flexible induction cooking area, which is divided into three areas with different heat settings.
  • Bridge: Connects two right-side cooking zones to operate as one, suitable for larger cookware.
  • Hob²Hood: An advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a special hood via infrared signals, automatically adjusting fan speed based on the hob's mode setting and the temperature of the hottest cookware. Manual fan control is also possible.
  • Lock / Child Safety Device: Locks/unlocks the control panel to prevent accidental changes to heat settings or unintended operation of the hob.
  • Pot Detection: Indicates the presence of cookware and deactivates zones if no cookware is detected during a cooking session.
  • Automatic Switch Off: Deactivates the hob automatically under certain conditions, such as all zones being off, no heat setting after activation, spills on the control panel, or overheating.
  • OptiHeat Control (3-step Residual Heat Indicator): Displays the residual heat level of hot cooking zones (continue cooking, keep warm, residual heat).

Usage Features:

  • Power Limitation: Users can adjust the total power consumption of the hob to match household fuse limits. Default is the highest possible power level.
  • Heat Setting: Desired heat settings are selected on the control bar, with indicators showing the selected level.
  • Cookware Compatibility: Suitable cookware includes cast iron, steel, enamelled steel, stainless steel, and multi-layer bottoms. Aluminum, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, and porcelain are not suitable. Cookware is suitable if water boils quickly on the highest heat setting and a magnet sticks to the bottom.
  • Cookware Placement: For optimal results, cookware should be centered on the selected zone and cover the area as much as possible. For the flexible zone, placement depends on the selected mode (Standard, Big Bridge, Max Bridge) and cookware size.
  • Menu Structure: Access user settings (sound, power limitation, hood mode, alarm/error history) by pressing and holding the appropriate sensor fields.
  • OffSound Control: Allows activation/deactivation of acoustic signals, though some sounds (e.g., timer completion) will still be audible.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Use only necessary water, always cover cookware with lids, place cookware centrally on the zone, and use residual heat to keep food warm or melt it.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the hob after each use to prevent surface material deterioration.
  • Cleaning Procedure:
    • Immediately remove melted plastic, plastic foil, salt, sugar, and sugary foods using a special hob scraper at an acute angle.
    • Once sufficiently cool, remove limescale, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discoloration using a moist soft cloth and a non-abrasive detergent. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
    • For shiny metallic discoloration, use a solution of water with vinegar.
  • Tools: Use only neutral detergents and a scraper recommended for glass surfaces. Avoid abrasive products, solvents, metal objects, knives, or sharp metal tools.
  • Flexible Zone Printing: The printing on the flexible induction cooking area may become dirty or change color due to cookware movement; clean as described.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive guide for common issues and their remedies. If problems persist, contact an authorized service center.
