This document is a user manual for the Electrolux ESM48210SW dishwasher.
Function Description
The Electrolux ESM48210SW is a household-type dishwasher designed for cleaning dishes and tableware. It is intended for single household domestic use in an indoor environment, and may also be used in offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, and farm guest houses where usage levels do not exceed average domestic levels. The appliance features a water softener system to remove minerals from the water supply, which negatively affects washing results. It also includes an AirDry function for improved drying results with less energy consumption, where the appliance door automatically opens during the drying phase.

Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the appliance.
Internal Cleaning:
- Wipe the interior with a moist soft cloth.
- Use a cleaning product designed for dishwashers at least once every two months to maintain performance and prevent limescale/grease buildup.
- Run long-duration programmes at least twice a month to prevent buildup, especially if short-duration programmes are used regularly.
- The cleaning programme (programme 4) is specifically designed for internal cleaning, removing limescale and grease buildup.
Filter System Cleaning:
- The filter system consists of three parts (flat filter, filter B, filter C).
- Check and clean filters after each use to remove foreign objects (glass, plastic, bones, toothpicks) that can decrease cleaning performance and damage the drain pump.
- Disassemble filters by turning filter B counterclockwise, removing filter C from filter B, and then removing the flat filter A.
- Wash all filters under running water.
- Reassemble filters by placing flat filter A, then filter B, turning it clockwise until it locks, and finally inserting filter C into filter B. Ensure correct positioning to avoid bad washing results.
Spray Arm Cleaning:
- Lower Spray Arm: Pull upwards to remove. Wash under running water, using a thin pointed tool (e.g., toothpick) to clear clogged holes. Press downwards to reinstall.
- Ceiling Spray Arm: Located on the ceiling of the appliance. To detach, move the upper basket to the lowest level, turn the mounting element (B) counterclockwise, and pull the spray arm (C) downwards from the delivery tube (A). Wash under running water, clearing clogged holes with a thin pointed tool. To reinstall, insert mounting element (B) into the spray arm and fix it in the delivery tube (A) by turning it clockwise until it locks.
- Upper Spray Arm: Do not remove. Clear clogged openings with a thin pointed object.
Salt Container:
- Fill with rough salt designed for dishwashers only (fine salt increases corrosion risk).
- For first use, add 1 litre of water before filling with 1 kg of salt.
- Close the cap tightly after refilling. Immediately start a programme after filling to prevent corrosion from spilled salt/water.
Rinse Aid Dispenser:
- Fill with rinse aid designed specifically for dishwashers up to the "MAX" mark.
- Wipe away any spilled rinse aid.
- Adjust the released quantity using the selector (positions 1 to 4 or 6).
External Cleaning:
- Clean the appliance with a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents.
- Do not use abrasive products, sharp tools, strong chemicals, scourers, or solvents.
- Wipe the door, including the rubber gasket, once a week.
Troubleshooting:
- The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting table for common issues, including alarm codes (e.g., i10, i20, i30, i41-i44, i51-i5F, i61-i69, iC0-iC3, iF1) and solutions.
- It addresses problems such as the appliance not activating, programmes not starting, water filling/draining issues, anti-flood device activation, unsatisfactory washing/drying results, streaks/layers on dishes, unusual foam, rust traces, detergent residues, odours, limescale deposits, and damaged tableware.
- Users are advised to check filters, spray arms, salt/rinse aid levels, and programme settings before contacting an Authorised Service Centre.
