This document is a user manual for the Electrolux EW2H328R2 Tumble Dryer, providing comprehensive information on its safe operation, features, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Electrolux EW2H328R2 is a tumble dryer designed for household use, capable of drying various fabric types. It operates by tumbling laundry in a drum while applying heat, removing moisture from the items. The appliance features a heat exchanger system and a compressor, which contribute to its drying efficiency. It is equipped with a water container to collect condensed water and a primary filter to capture lint. The dryer offers a range of programmes tailored for different fabric types and dryness levels, including cotton, synthetics, jeans, sportwear, bedlinen, silk, and wool. It also includes an "Eco" programme designed for maximum energy saving. The maximum load capacity for this appliance is 8 kg.
Usage Features
The tumble dryer is operated via a control panel that includes a programme knob, indicators, a display, and touchpads for various options.
- Programme Selection: Users can select programmes using the programme knob, which also serves as the OFF switch.
- Indicators and Display: The control panel features indicators for drying phase, cooling phase, crease guard phase, condenser, water container, filter, delay start, child lock, and acoustic signals. The display shows programme duration, time drying duration, and delay start duration.
- Time Dry Option: This option allows users to set a specific drying duration, ranging from 10 minutes to 2 hours, suitable for small loads or single items.
- Extra Anticrease Option: This feature extends the anticrease phase by up to 90 minutes (in addition to the default 30 minutes) at the end of the drying cycle. This helps prevent creases by rotating the drum periodically after the drying phase.
- End Alert Option: The appliance provides acoustic signals at the cycle end, start and end of the crease guard phase, and during cycle interruption. This function can be activated or deactivated.
- Delay Start: Users can delay the start of a programme from 30 minutes to 20 hours, allowing for flexible scheduling.
- Child Lock Function: This safety feature prevents children from interacting with the appliance during operation by locking the programme knob and touchpads. Only the OFF switch remains unlocked.
- Moisture Degree Adjustment: The appliance allows for adjustment of the remaining laundry moisture degree, offering options for maximum dry, more dry, and standard dry laundry.
- Stand-by Function: To conserve energy, the appliance automatically deactivates after 5 minutes if no programme is started or after 5 minutes from the end of a programme.
- Door Reversibility: For convenience in loading or installation, the appliance door is reversible.
- Laundry Preparation: Before drying, users should close zips and fasteners, remove items from pockets, tie loose ties or ribbons, and turn cotton items inside out. It is recommended to separate light and dark colours and to use programmes suitable for the specific fabric type. The manual also advises against drying damaged items, items with padding/fillings, or items soiled with industrial chemicals without an additional rinse cycle.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the tumble dryer.
- Filter Cleaning: The lint filter must be cleaned before or after each use. The manual provides clear illustrations on how to remove and clean the filter, recommending the use of a hand or a vacuum cleaner, and advising against using water to clean it to prevent dispersion of plastic fibres into the water.
- Water Container Emptying: The condensed water collected in the container needs to be emptied regularly. The manual illustrates the process of removing and emptying the water container. The collected water can be used as an alternative to distilled water for steam ironing, provided it is filtered to remove dirt residues.
- Condenser Cleaning: The condenser requires periodic cleaning to maintain drying performance. The manual provides step-by-step instructions with illustrations on how to access and clean the condenser.
- Drum Cleaning: The inner surface of the drum and drum lifters should be cleaned with a moist soft cloth and a standard neutral soap detergent. Abrasive materials or steel wool should not be used.
- Control Panel and Housing Cleaning: The control panel and housing can be cleaned with a moist soft cloth and a standard neutral soap detergent. Users are cautioned against using furniture cleaning agents or corrosive cleaning agents.
- Airflow Slots Cleaning: Fluff should be removed from the airflow slots using a vacuum cleaner to ensure proper ventilation.
- General Safety: Before any maintenance, the appliance must be deactivated and disconnected from the mains power supply. Users are advised to be careful when cleaning the appliance to prevent damage to the cooling system and to avoid touching metal surfaces with bare hands.
