This document is a user manual for the Electrolux EW8T3372 washing machine.
Function Description
The Electrolux EW8T3372 is a top-loading washing machine designed for effective laundry treatment with low water, energy, and detergent consumption, while also caring for fabrics. It incorporates several special features to enhance washing performance and user convenience.
Special Features:
- Soft Plus option: Ensures fabric softener is uniformly spread and deeply penetrates fabric fibers for enhanced softness.
- Steam programmes: Offer a quick and easy way to refresh clothes, remove odors, and reduce creasing, making ironing easier. These programmes do not use detergent and are suitable for dried, washed, or worn-once laundry.
- Stain option: Pre-treats stubborn stains to optimize the effectiveness of stain removers.
- UltraCare System: Detects the laundry load weight within 30 seconds to tailor the programme duration, optimizing water, energy, and time consumption.
- Oko-Mix technology: Protects fabric fibers by pre-mixing detergent and fabric softener in water before distribution, ensuring every fiber is reached and cared for.

Usage Features
The washing machine features a control panel with a programme dial, touch buttons for various options, and a digital display.
Control Panel Elements:
- Programme dial
- Spin reduction options touch button
- Temperature touch button
- Display
- Delay Start touch button
- Time Manager touch button
- Start/Pause touch button
- Steam Finish touch button
- Soft Plus touch button
- Extra Rinse touch button
- Stain touch button
- Prewash touch button
- On/Off push button
Key Usage Functions:
- Activating/Deactivating: Press the On/Off button for a few seconds. The appliance automatically deactivates after several minutes to save energy (Stand-by function).
- Programme Selection: Turn the programme dial. The display shows an indicative programme duration.
- Temperature Adjustment: Touch the temperature button repeatedly to select the desired temperature. A "—-" indicator means no water heating.
- Spin Speed Adjustment: Touch the spin button repeatedly to decrease spin speed or select "No Spin" for delicate fabrics (draining only). "Rinse Hold" option keeps laundry in water to prevent creasing; a spin cycle is needed to drain.
- Delay Start: Set a delay up to 20 hours in 1-hour steps. The appliance locks the lid and starts a countdown. Can be cancelled or changed during countdown.
- Time Manager: Reduces programme duration based on load size and soiling level. Indicated by dashes on the display (more dashes for full load, fewer for lighter/quicker cycles).
- Start/Pause: Starts, pauses, or interrupts a running programme.
- UltraCare System Load Detection: After starting, the appliance detects load weight within 30 seconds and adjusts programme duration. An "MAX" indicator flashes if overloaded, allowing removal of garments.
- Adding Garments: The lid can be opened during a programme or delay start if water temperature and level are not too high and the drum is not rotating.
- End of Programme: The appliance stops automatically, acoustic signals operate, and "0:00" is displayed. The lid unlocks.
Detergent Compartments:
- Main wash compartment (for powder or liquid detergent)
- Prewash compartment (for powder or liquid detergent)
- Fabric conditioner/starch compartment
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the appliance's longevity and optimal performance.
Cleaning:
- External Cleaning: Use mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly. Do not use alcohol, solvents, chemical products, or chlorine-based detergents on metal surfaces.
- Descaling: If water hardness is high, use a water descaling product for washing machines. Run a cycle with an empty drum and descaling product occasionally.
- Maintenance Wash: Regularly run a maintenance wash (at least once a month) with an empty drum and a small quantity of powder detergent at the highest temperature to remove detergent deposits, fluff residues, and prevent bacterial growth and odors. The drum clean indicator (::::) may appear as a recommendation.
- Drum Cleaning: Clean the drum with special products for stainless steel if rust deposits occur. Do not use acidic descaling products, scouring products containing chlorine or iron, or steel wool.
- Lid Seal: Regularly examine and clean the lid seal with ammonia cream cleanser, avoiding scratching.
- Detergent Dispenser: Remove and clean the dispenser regularly by rinsing it under running water.
- Drain Filter: Regularly check and clean the drain pump filter, especially if the appliance does not drain, the drum does not turn, or an unusual noise occurs (alarm code E20).
- Inlet Hose and Valve Filter: Regularly check and clean the filter in the inlet hose and the valve filter.
Emergency Procedures:
- Emergency Drain: If the appliance cannot drain, perform the drain pump cleaning procedure. After draining, reactivate the drain system by pouring 2 liters of water into the main wash compartment and starting a drain programme.
- Frost Precautions: If the appliance is in an area prone to freezing temperatures, disconnect the mains plug, close the water tap, drain water from the inlet hose, and empty the drain pump. Ensure the temperature is above 0°C before reuse.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like the appliance not starting, not filling/draining water, unusual noises, or unsatisfactory washing results, along with corresponding solutions. Alarm codes (e.g., EHO, E91, EFO, E10, E20, E40) are explained.
