Function Description

The Electrolux Chest Freezer is designed for storing food and beverages. It is suitable for domestic use in indoor environments, including offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, farm guest houses, and similar accommodations, provided usage does not exceed average domestic levels. The freezer compartment is specifically designed for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for extended periods.

Usage Features

  • Control Panel: Features a Temperature indicator, SUPER indicator, SET button, OFF button, and Running indicator.
  • Switching ON/OFF: The appliance is switched on by inserting the plug and pressing the OFF button for 3 seconds if indicators are off. To switch off, press the OFF button for 3 seconds.
  • Temperature Regulation: Temperature is set by repeatedly pressing the SET button until the desired temperature is reached. The recommended temperature is -18°C. The setting takes effect 5 seconds after the last press. For ambient temperatures between +10°C and -15°C, setting the thermostat to -22°C is recommended for proper compressor operation.
  • SUPER Function: Accelerates the freezing of fresh food and protects already stored foodstuffs from warming. Activated by repeatedly pressing the SET button until the SUPER indicator lights up. It automatically stops after 52 hours, returning to the previous temperature setting, or can be manually stopped.
  • Running Indicator: Illuminates when the compressor is operating and turns off when it stops.
  • Freezing Fresh Food: The maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is specified on the rating plate. The SUPER function should be activated 24 hours before placing food in the appliance. The freezing process takes 24 hours, during which no other food should be added.
  • Storage of Frozen Food: The freezer compartment is marked with ***. A temperature of -18°C or lower ensures proper preservation.
  • Thawing: Deep-frozen or frozen food can be thawed in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Small pieces can be cooked directly from frozen, but cooking time will be longer.
  • Shopping Tips: Ensure packaging is undamaged, transport frozen goods in an insulated cool bag, place frozen foods immediately in the freezer, and do not re-freeze partially defrosted food.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning the Interior: Before first use, the interior and all internal accessories should be washed with lukewarm water and neutral soap, then dried thoroughly.
  • General Cleaning: Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Regularly clean the appliance and accessories with warm water and neutral soap. Clean the lid seal carefully. Do not use detergents, abrasive powders, chlorine, oil-based cleaners, highly perfumed cleaning products, wax polishes, or steam cleaners.
  • Defrosting: Defrost the freezer when the frost layer reaches a thickness of about 4-5 mm.
    1. Switch off the appliance.
    2. Remove stored food, wrap it in newspaper, and place it in a cool area.
    3. Remove the drain plug from the inside.
    4. Leave the lid open.
    5. Place a tray beneath the outer drain plug.
    6. Pull out and rotate the outer drain plug 180 degrees to allow water to flow into the tray.
    7. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
    8. Switch on the appliance.
    9. Set to a higher temperature and close the lid for two to three hours before reloading food.
    10. Set to the desired temperature.
  • Frost Scraping: Use the plastic ice scraper (included in the accessories bag) monthly to scrape away frost from the cabinet frame or inner liner. Do not use sharp metal tools.
  • Handle Installation: The manual provides instructions for installing the handle base and cover using screws and a Phillips screwdriver. For models with a lock, instructions for installing the lock hook are also provided.
