The ELRO IP Video Door Intercom system is designed to enhance home security and convenience by allowing users to see, speak with, and grant access to visitors remotely. This comprehensive system includes a compact outdoor unit with a camera and a protective sun/rain cover, along with a beautifully designed indoor monitor. The system is available in two configurations: DV50_P1M1, which includes one doorpush and one 18cm monitor, and DV50_P1M2, which includes one doorpush and two 18cm monitors.
The core function of the ELRO IP Video Door Intercom is to provide visual and audio communication with visitors at your door. When a visitor presses the doorbell button on the outdoor unit, the indoor monitor automatically turns on, displaying a live video feed from the camera. Users can then initiate a call to speak with the visitor. The system offers the ability to remotely unlock an electric door opener or an electric gate/fence opener, providing convenient access control without needing to physically go to the door or gate.
A key feature of this intercom system is its integration with the free ELRO Intercom application for smartphones. This app allows users to receive notifications, view live video, communicate with visitors, take photos, record videos, and even control the electric door opener from anywhere with an internet connection. This remote access capability significantly enhances security and convenience, especially when you are away from home.
The outdoor unit is equipped with a camera that has a 46° viewing angle and six LEDs, ensuring optimal night vision up to at least two meters away. This allows for clear visibility of visitors even in low-light conditions. The indoor monitor features an 18 cm LCD screen, providing a clear display of the video feed.
The outdoor unit is recommended to be mounted at a height between 1.35 and 1.70 meters, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. It comes with a sun/rain canopy that should be used to mark drill holes for mounting. The connecting cable from the outdoor unit to the indoor monitor is 15 meters long, a factor to consider when positioning the monitor. The monitor itself must be mounted within the range of your WiFi network. The mounting bracket for the monitor provides space for connecting the 4-core connecting cable from the outdoor unit and the 12V DC adapter.
The indoor monitor features several controls for customization. Users can adjust the ringer volume in three steps and choose from 16 different ring tones. Brightness and chroma (color intensity) can also be adjusted to personal preference, allowing users to optimize the image quality. The speech volume for communication with visitors is also adjustable.
The system includes two short red/black connection cords for connecting an electric door opener and an electric gate-opener via the monitor. The system provides potential-free switching contacts for these openers, meaning it does not supply voltage, and external adapters for the door and gate openers are required and not included. An electric door opener can also be connected directly via the outdoor unit.
To use the ELRO Intercom app, ensure your smartphone is connected to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network as the intercom. After downloading the app, you will be prompted to grant permissions and agree to a privacy statement. Devices can be added via "Smart Config" or "QR Code way." "Smart Config" automatically searches for the device, while "QR Code way" involves scanning a QR code displayed on your smartphone with the outdoor unit's camera. Once paired, you can set a personal password for the device and customize its name within the app.
The ELRO Intercom app provides a range of features accessible through intuitive icons:
For the two-monitor configuration, the second monitor connects to the first (WiFi) monitor via a cable to the "INDOOR OUT" port. The second monitor then connects this cable to its "OUTDOOR IN" port. On the last monitor in the series (in this case, the second), a small white switch should be set to the "ON" position.
The app can be shared with family members or guests, granting them equal or restricted rights. For equal rights, the guest user must be in the same WiFi environment as the main user. They download the app, add the device, and enter the main user's password. For restricted rights, the main user generates a QR code that the guest user scans with their smartphone, allowing limited access without full configuration privileges.
If the connecting cable is too short, it can be extended at your own risk. Always use a similar 4-core, 0.3 mm² cable. The extension should not exceed 5 meters. The manual advises cutting the plug, stripping wires, and soldering them to the extension, insulating the solderings with tape. For completely new or existing cables, ensure they are no longer than 20 meters and have individual wires with a thickness of at least 0.3 mm² but not exceeding 0.5 mm².
If the ELRO Intercom app pairing fails, and you are certain the correct 2.4 GHz WiFi signal and password are being used, a monitor reset is recommended. To reset, press the key with the key symbol for at least 5 seconds. The monitor will announce "Reset parameter is successful, the system is about to restart" and then "Please setup network by your mobile application." After this, you can attempt to reconnect the app.
Removing a device from the app is straightforward. Simply open the app, slide the device entry to the left, and press "Delete." The device will then be removed from your app.
To ensure proper functioning and longevity of the device, avoid installing it in environments with high temperatures or humidity. Keep it away from televisions to prevent signal interference. Do not touch the equipment with wet hands, and avoid dropping or damaging it. Clean the equipment with a soft cloth, without using polish, thinner, or caustic agents. The camera should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Use the product in situations free from interference, as passing cars or motorcycles may cause image blurring due to radio wave interference. Always use the supplied cables and ensure the AC adapter is placed in an accessible location for disconnection.
The ELRO IP Video Door Intercom system is designed to be user-friendly, robust, and adaptable, providing peace of mind and enhanced control over your home's entry points.
