What to do if pilot is burning but no gas to burner on Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace?
    • J
      Jacqueline RichardsonAug 6, 2025
If the pilot is burning but no gas is reaching the burner with the valve knob and on/off switch both in the 'ON' position, the issue might be with the 'On/Off' switch, wall switch, or wiring. Check the switch and wires for secure connections. You can use jumper wires across the terminal at the switch; if the burner ignites, the switch is defective and needs replacement. If the switch is okay, use jumper wires across the switch wires at the gas valve—if the burner then ignites, the wires are faulty or have bad connections. Another potential cause is a defective valve. With the valve knob and on/off switch set to 'ON,' use a millivolt meter at the thermopile terminals. If the meter reads greater than 100 M.V. but the burner still doesn't ignite, the gas valve needs replacing.

How to fix spark ignitor that will not light pilot on Empire Comfort Systems CIDV-30 Indoor Fireplace?
    • M
      Mary SullivanAug 10, 2025
If the spark ignitor on your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace fails to light the pilot after repeatedly pressing the piezo ignitor button, it could be due to a defective ignitor or a gas supply issue. First, check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, replace the ignitor. Also, ensure that the gas supply is adequate by checking remote shut-off valves from the fireplace; typically, there's a valve near the main gas line, and there may be multiple valves between the fireplace and the main line.

Why does my Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace pilot and main burner extinguish during operation?
    • R
      Rebecca WilsonAug 14, 2025
If the pilot and main burner extinguish while in operation in your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the LP (Propane) tank is not empty and refill it if necessary. Additionally, inspect the inner vent pipe for any leaks that may be allowing exhaust gases to re-enter the system. Check that the glass assembly is correctly installed and tighten the corners, as loose glass can cause gasket leaks. Finally, verify that the horizontal vent is properly pitched, with a downward slope no greater than 1/4 inch to prevent water entry.

What to do if pilot will not stay lit on Empire Comfort Systems CIDV-30?
    • R
      Robert DaltonSep 12, 2025
If the pilot on your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace won't stay lit even after carefully following the lighting instructions, the thermocouple might be defective. Ensure the pilot flame makes contact with the thermocouple. Clean and adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement. If the thermocouple is producing more than 15 millivolts, the valve may be faulty and needs replacement.

How to stop glass sooting on Empire Comfort Systems CIDV-30 Indoor Fireplace?
    • S
      Sarah BenderAug 23, 2025
If you notice the glass of your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace sooting, it could be due to flame impingement on the logs or an improper air shutter adjustment. Adjust the log set to minimize flame contact. Additionally, adjust the air shutter to optimize the air-to-fuel mixture.

Why frequent pilot outage problem on Empire Comfort Systems CIDV-30 Indoor Fireplace?
    • W
      wrightjesseAug 27, 2025
If you are experiencing frequent pilot outages with your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace, it may be because the pilot flame is either too high or too low, or it's being blown out, causing the pilot safety to drop out. Ensure the pilot flame is clean and properly adjusted for maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple. Follow the lighting instructions carefully.

Why flame lifts off main burner on Empire Comfort Systems CIDV-30 Indoor Fireplace?
    • R
      Rhonda SmithSep 1, 2025
If the flame lifts off the main burner of your Empire Comfort Systems Indoor Fireplace, it indicates that insufficient oxygen is being supplied. Check that the vent cap is properly installed and free of any obstructions. Also, ensure that all joints in the vent system are tight and without leaks.
