Usage Features:
Handlebar Controls:
The handlebar control panel integrates several key functions:
- Steering Handle: For directional control.
- LCD Display: Shows battery level, battery voltage, current speed, and distance traveled.
- Battery Indicator: Displays battery charge level with bars (5 bars for full, 3 bars for half, 1 bar for low).
- Keyed Ignition: To turn the scooter on and off.
- Forward/Reverse Directional Controls: Fingertip paddles for controlling forward and reverse motion. Pushing the right paddle moves forward, the left paddle moves backward. Releasing the lever stops the scooter.
- Automatic Folding Switch: Located on the control pod, this switch can be used to fold and unfold the scooter by pressing and holding it towards "II" (fold) or "1" (unfold).
- Horn: A button on the control unit activates the horn.
- Speed Control Knob: Adjusts the scooter's speed; turn left for slower, right for faster.
- Headlight Control: Button to turn headlights on and off.
- Charging Port: For connecting the battery charger.
Free Wheel Lever:
Located at the rear on the left-hand side, this lever allows the wheels to move freely when pushed down, enabling manual pushing or pulling of the scooter. It must be pulled up to engage the drive system for operation. A beeping noise will sound if the scooter is turned on while the free wheel lever is engaged.
Telescoping Tiller:
The tiller height can be adjusted by pushing and holding the height adjustment lever while pulling up or down. Releasing the lever locks it into place.
Adjusting the Tiller Tilt:
The tiller can be tilted for rider comfort. Squeeze and hold the tiller tilt adjuster lever towards the tiller, then move the tiller towards the seat to the desired position. Releasing the lever locks it.
Armrests:
Armrests are standard and can be installed or removed. They slide into brackets, and thumb screws are used to secure them at the desired height. The angle of the armrest can be adjusted by changing the height of the screw within the armrest.
Attaching the Basket:
The basket easily slides onto a bracket at the front of the tiller and can be removed and folded for transport.
Automatic Remote-Control Operation (Key Fob):
The MOJO scooter can be folded and unfolded using a remote control (key fob). Press and hold the "open" button to unfold and the "fold" button to fold. The remote works whether the scooter is on or off. The remote control uses a CR3032 battery. If the remote indicator light flickers or doesn't come on, the battery needs replacement. If the light stays on, a button might be stuck.
Syncing the Remote Control:
To sync, lift the cloth below the seat to find the Remote Relay Box. Press the button on the box once (blue light flashes three times, three beeps), then press the "close" button on the remote once (blue light flashes three times, two beeps) to confirm syncing. To clear memory, press and hold the button on the relay box for five seconds (one beep).
MOJO Disassembly and Assembly:
The scooter can be disassembled into a front frame and a rear axle group by pulling the Rear Group Release Lever and pushing the front frame assembly up and forward. Assembly involves aligning the Front Frame Stand onto the Guide for the Front Frame, pulling up the Rear Axle Group Release Lever, and letting the Front Frame Assembly settle into place.
Safety Requirements:
- Always slow down before turning.
- Turn the key off before getting on or off the scooter.
- Avoid driving in loose gravel, soft soil, or sandstone.
- Minimize speed and drive slowly over small obstacles.
- Do not operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

- Do not reverse on uneven slopes.
- Never use on stairs or escalators.
- Do not operate on frozen, slippery, or salty ground.
- Do not charge a frozen battery.
- It is unsafe to drive up steep inclines.

Maintenance Features:
Battery Maintenance & Charging:
- Charging: Charge the battery completely before first use and monthly during storage. Ensure the key is in the off position.
- Installation: Slide batteries into compartments on each side of the seat.
- Charging Process: Turn off the MOJO, remove the key, open the charger cap, insert the charger into the port, and plug into a household outlet. Red light indicates charging, green light indicates full charge. Unplug when complete.
- External Charging: Batteries can be charged out of the scooter with an optional docking station.
- Charger Function: The charger outputs a large current when the battery is low and a small current when near full, preventing overcharging. Charge for less than 24 hours.
- Charger Lights: Red for charging, green for fully charged.
- Charger Compatibility: Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to avoid voiding the warranty.
- Charging Frequency: Daily if used daily, weekly if used weekly. If not used for over 3 weeks, remove the battery, store in a warm, dry place, and charge monthly. Full charge takes 6-8 hours.
- Battery Discharge: Do not let the battery fully discharge before charging.
- Maximizing Operating Distance: Fully charge before use, maintain constant speed, reduce weight, avoid intermittent driving.
- New Battery Performance: New deep-cycle batteries may have reduced initial performance due to temperature during transport. Performance improves after several charging-discharging cycles. Low speeds are recommended for initial uses.
- Battery Life: A fully charged battery provides better performance and extends life. Do not fully discharge.
- Storage: Charge fully, remove from scooter, store in a warm, dry place, avoid drastic temperature variations. Charge at least once per month if storing. Use monthly for optimal life.
- Warnings: Do not dismantle the battery or add water (voids warranty). If frozen, warm for several days before charging.
General Maintenance:
- Battery: Ensure fully charged, store dry, check electrode connections for corrosion, never charge frozen, never fully discharge.
- Seat: Clean seat cover with a clean, damp cloth.
- Cleaning: Use a clean, damp, non-abrasive cloth. Do not wash with a water hose to prevent electrical shorts.
- Wiring: Regularly check all wire connections and insulation for wear and damage, including the charger power cord.
- Motor, Bearings, and Transmission Parts: These are factory-lubricated and sealed; no additional lubrication is needed. Store in a dry environment and avoid moisture. Check and tighten bolts regularly.
Troubleshooting:
- Power stops while operating: Check key position (ON), battery insertion, and charge level.
- Scooter not opening with Remote Control: Check if the remote's light comes on (replace battery if not). Try the Automatic Folding Switch. If the switch works, try syncing the remote control. If issues persist, call for service.
- Slow speeds while driving: Adjust speed control knob and ensure battery is properly charged.
- Battery not charging: Check cord connections to wall and scooter. If no light on charger box, it may be broken; call for service.
- Lost keys or remote control: Order replacements from your MOJO dealer.
- Armrests not staying up: Use a 4mm Allen wrench to adjust the bolt on the armrest and a 10mm nut to hold it in place. Loosen the nut, adjust the bolt to change the armrest pitch, then tighten the nut to lock it.
