Function Description

The B21 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a feature-rich input device designed for both gaming and general productivity. It offers a range of cool functions and light effects, aiming to provide a new sense of interaction and user experience. The keyboard supports multiple connection methods, including Bluetooth and USB wired, making it adaptable to various setups. It also boasts dual-system compatibility for Mac and Windows, allowing users to switch between operating systems seamlessly and optimize key functions accordingly.

Usage Features

Connection Methods:

The keyboard offers two primary connection methods:

• Bluetooth Mode:

  • To initiate Bluetooth connection, the user must turn the "mode switch" to the BT position. If no host has been paired previously, the keyboard automatically enters a code-matching state.
  • If a host has been paired before, the keyboard will directly reconnect. The indicator light will flash slowly during this process.
  • Should the connection fail for 3 seconds, the keyboard will enter a Bluetooth sleep state.
  • Upon successful connection, the indicator light will remain on for 3 seconds, and then the original state of the button backlight will be restored.
  • Multi-device Connection: The keyboard supports connecting to multiple Bluetooth devices. Users can touch the designated buttons (1, 2, or 3) to switch to the corresponding Bluetooth device. The light of the selected button will flash slowly for 3 seconds to indicate reconnection. After a successful reconnection, the corresponding button light will stay on. If reconnection fails, the backlight will turn off.
  • To pair a new device, users can long-press the corresponding button for 2 seconds. The button light will flash quickly to indicate code pairing. Once pairing is successful, the button light will remain on. If the connection fails, the backlight will go out.

• USB Wired Connection Mode:

  • To use the keyboard in wired mode, the user needs to turn the "mode switch" to the USB position. This action simultaneously enables the USB wired connection and turns off the battery power supply.
  • The keyboard's battery can be charged by connecting the USB cable in any mode until it is fully charged.

Mac/Win Dual System Function:

The B21 keyboard is designed to be compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, offering optimized key functions for each:

• Windows System:

  • Users can switch the system to the Win gear position using the designated switch. This configuration matches Windows system usage habits.
  • In Windows mode, the F1-F12 key functions are directly triggered.
  • Multimedia key functions, however, require combination with the (FN) key to be activated.
  • The "win" and "alt" keys on the left side of the space bar are switched to "alt" and "win" respectively.
  • The "alt", "fn", and "ctrl" keys on the right side of the space bar are switched to "ctrl", "fn", and "alt" respectively.

• Mac System:

  • To use the keyboard with a Mac, users should switch the system to the MAC position. This configuration aligns with Mac system usage habits.
  • In Mac mode, the multimedia keys are directly triggered.
  • The F1-F12 key functions, conversely, need to be combined with the (FN) key to be activated.

Multimedia Button Function:

The keyboard features dedicated multimedia controls, particularly in Windows system:

• In Windows system, the multimedia keys (represented by icons 1-8, 9, 0) correspond to F1-F12 functions and can be triggered directly without needing to combine with the FN key.
• Specific multimedia functions include:
  • F3: Multi-screen display
  • F4: Main control panel
  • F7: Last song
  • F8: Play/Pause
  • F9: Next song
  • F10: Mute
  • F11: Volume -
  • F12: Volume +

FN Composite Function Key:

The FN key allows for a range of composite functions to enhance control over brightness, light effects, and system settings:

• FN + ↑: Increases brightness (with levels at 0-28-44-60-80, default 100).
• FN + ↓: Reduces brightness (with levels at 0-28-44-60-80, default 100).
• FN + ←: Reduces the light efficiency speed (with levels at 0-28-44-60-80, default 100).
• FN + →: Increases the light efficiency speed (with levels at 0-28-44-60-80, default 100).
• FN + left Ctrl: Cycles to switch the number key 1-0 function between the default number 1-0 function and the F1-F12 function.
• FN + Del: A long press for 3 seconds will restore factory settings, clearing all power-off memory information, including Bluetooth pairing information.

Knob Function Key:

The keyboard is equipped with two knobs, each offering distinct functionalities:

• Left Knob:

  • Turning clockwise increases the volume of multimedia.
  • Turning counterclockwise decreases the volume of multimedia.
  • Pressing the knob mutes the audio.
  • Pressing it again removes the mute.

• Right Knob:

  • Rotating clockwise increases the backlight brightness.
  • Rotating counterclockwise reduces the backlight brightness.
  • Pressing the knob cycles through different light effects.
  • Extended Function: The right knob also contains extended functions, which require support for clockwise rotation, counter-clockwise rotation, and pressing of both the left and right knobs. These extended functions can include actions such as zoom in, zoom out, open, close, forward, backward, and other similar operations, depending on the software or application being used.

Maintenance Features

Indicator Light:

The indicator light provides important feedback regarding the keyboard's power status:

• Charging Indicator: The charging light is red. It remains on when the keyboard is charging and turns off when it is fully charged.
• Low Battery Warning: When the voltage drops below 3.5V, the low battery indicator flashes red once every second. If the voltage further drops below 3.2V, the keyboard will automatically shut down to protect the battery and internal components.

These features collectively ensure a comprehensive and user-friendly experience, allowing for flexible connectivity, system compatibility, and customizable controls, while also providing clear indications for power management.
