Compared to previous pigment ink,
Epson UltraChrome Ink contains
double the quantity of pigment
particles. This enables reproduction
of brilliant colour that is superior to
that of general offset printing and
silver halide photography.
Additionally, it enables exceptional
image quality on a greater range
of media including bond paper,
tracing paper and other matte finish
media such as newsprint.
By virtue of the Epson Micro
Encapsulation technology, which
coats every pigment particle with
a strong yet transparent resin,
Epson UltraChrome Ink has an
indoor lightfastness rating of up
to 75 years
*
when laminated or
framed under glass. This same
resin coating affords the pigment
particles high levels of protection
from ozone gas – a major cause
of print fading and discoloration.
As an all-pigment ink that is
not water soluble, Epson
UltraChrome Ink is highly
resistant to water, liquids and
airborne moisture. As a result,
Epson STYLUS PRO 400 prints
have water-resistant qualities
that add substantially to their
overall durability.
