Installing ink cartridges
Before installing the ink cartridges, you will first need to wash the print head using cleaning cartridges.
Note: Make sure you have ink and cleaning cartridges (not included) before you begin.
1.
Press the P power button to turn on the printer.
2. Follow the instructions on the LCD screen to select the initial settings, such as the language, date, and
color mode (SC-S80600 only).
Note: You can change these setting later using the product’s control panel. See the online User’s Guide for
help.

Continue following the instructions on the control panel to wash the print head. You will be
prompted to perform the following sequential tasks: install the cleaning cartridges, charge the cleaning
liquid, remove the cleaning cartridges, and discharge the cleaning liquid.
4. When prompted to install the ink cartridges, unpack the ink cartridges and shake each cartridge
15 times within 5 seconds. For SC-S80600 users, shake the OR, WH, and MS cartridges a bit more;
about 50 times within 15 seconds.
Note: Do not touch the IC chip on the cartridge.
