The Equate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor, model 6500 Series, is a wireless device designed for ease of use and accuracy in daily blood pressure regimens. It measures blood pressure and pulse rate for adults in a home healthcare environment.

Function Description:

The monitor measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure in mmHg and pulse rate in beats per minute. It features an oscillometric measurement method. The device is designed to operate by itself and is not intended for infants or children. It includes a C.P.G. (Correct Position Guidance) indicator to help users maintain the correct wrist angle relative to cardiac height during measurement, aiming for more stable results. The monitor also detects irregular heartbeats (I.H.B. symbol) and provides an AHA Classification Indicator to categorize blood pressure readings (Stage 2 Hypertension, Stage 1 Hypertension, Elevated, Normal).

Usage Features:

The monitor is designed for easy operation, with a clear display showing SYS (systolic), DIA (diastolic), and PUL/min (pulse per minute) values.

  • Battery Installation: Requires 2 x 1.5V LR03 or AAA alkaline batteries. Users are advised to replace all batteries with new ones when the LOW BATTERY symbol blinks and not to mix old and new batteries.
  • Cuff Application: The cuff should be wrapped around the wrist about 1 cm below the hand and fastened tightly with the Velcro strip on a bare wrist.
  • Measurement Process:
    1. Sit comfortably with feet on the floor, back straight, and arm on a table with the palm facing upward, cuff at heart level.
    2. Relax for 5-10 minutes before measurement.
    3. Press the START button. The device will inflate the cuff and automatically begin measurement.
    4. Remain still and quiet during measurement.
    5. The C.P.G. indicator helps guide wrist positioning for accurate readings.
  • Memory Recall: The device stores up to 90 measurements per user. Users can recall average data, most recent data, and oldest data.
  • Date and Time Setting: The monitor has a built-in clock that automatically adjusts by syncing with a mobile device during the Bluetooth® pairing process.
  • Bluetooth® Connectivity: The monitor connects to mobile devices (smartphones or tablets) via Bluetooth® using the free Equate Heart Chart app. This allows for transferring measurement data and storing it in the app.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The device and cuff should be cleaned with a dry, soft cloth or a cloth dampened with water and a neutral detergent. Alcohol, benzene, thinner, or harsh chemicals should not be used.
