Overview

The Etac Swift Mobil-2 is a family of mobile shower and toilet chairs designed for indoor use, particularly for individuals with restricted mobility. These products are suitable for use in showers, at sinks, or over toilets, and facilitate transfers to and from hygiene rooms. They are intended for use in both home environments and institutions, and are suitable for wet areas, but not pools or similar corrosive environments. The chairs are designed to compensate for various types of injuries or disabilities that limit user mobility. They are intended for adult users, generally those at least 146 cm tall and weighing at least 40 kg. The product is not intended for any other use or environment beyond those stated. The Etac Swift Mobil-2 products have been tested and comply with the requirements set out in EN ISO 10993-1 and SS EN 12182.

Key Components (See Figure A):

  1. Bolt
  2. Leg support
  3. Seat
  4. Arm support
  5. Back support upholstery
  6. Head support

Usage Features:

  • Height Adjustment (Figure G): The chair's height is easily adjusted by inserting a bolt into the required position. It is crucial to ensure both sides are adjusted to the same height to maintain stability. The chair should not be used if the orange bolt is not locked.
  • Arm Support Adjustment (Figure G): The height and width of the arm supports can be adjusted. Loosen the screws, twist the support to the desired position, and retighten. Then, loosen and refit the arm support plate in the correct position. Swift Mobil Tilt-2 XL models are delivered with arm supports mounted in the most inward position (seat width 48 cm).
  • Tilt Angle Adjustment (Figure G):
    • Position A allows the seat to tilt at angles from -5° to 30°.
    • Position B allows the seat to tilt at angles from 0° to 35°.
  • User Brake Adjustment (Figure G): When adjusting the brake, the brake pin should be set 18 to 22 mm from the rear wheel for optimal grip.
  • Leg Support (Figure H): The leg supports can be easily raised and swiveled to the side for user access. The foot supports are detachable. Various height adjustment options are available by moving the locking pin. The leg supports have 6 different height settings.
  • Tilt Function (Figure I): The assistant can adjust the sitting angle by holding the handle and tilting to the required position. When using the tilt function with a user in the chair, ensure the wheels are locked.
  • Transfers (Figure F):
    • Over a threshold: For chair-only transfers, place one foot on the wheel. With a user, pull the chair backward.
    • In stationary position: Always lock as many castors as possible. Out-turned castors improve stability.
    • Transferring: Assess risks and take notes. The carer is responsible for user safety. Aids should be used if the transfer is deemed risky. Ensure castors are locked and pointing outward before transfers. Fold up the arm support on the transfer side of the chair to facilitate the transfer.

Safety Information (Figure E):

  • Defective chairs must not be used.
  • Ensure castors are locked when users sit down or get up from the chair.
  • An anti-tip attachment must be used if the user is an amputee.
  • Never stand on the foot supports, as there is a risk of tipping.
  • The sitting position impacts stability.
  • Chair stability is improved if the castors point outward.
  • Refer to page 5 for maximum user weight.
  • Risk of crushing with arm supports.
  • In case of an adverse event, report it to your local dealer and the national competent authority. The local dealer will forward information to the manufacturer.

Maintenance Features (Figure D):

  • Cleaning: Clean the product with normal non-abrasive cleaning agents (pH value between 5-9). Rinse and dry.
  • Disinfection: Disinfect the product with an alcohol-based disinfectant (70%).
  • Reconditioning: The product and its accessories can be safely cleaned at 85°C (185°F) for 3 minutes (unless otherwise stated). This applies for reconditioning.
