Overview

The Eureka! SPRK Camp Stove, model 2572200, is a portable butane gas stove designed for outdoor use only, complying with ANS Z21.72-CSA 11.2-2016 Camp Stove standards. It is equipped with a Piezo-Electric ignition system and operates with 227-gram (8 Oz.) non-refillable fuel gas canisters that are designed for vapor withdrawal only, specifically those complying with DOT 2P or 2Q requirements and listed to the Standard for Non-refillable (Disposable) Type Metal Canister. The stove has a fuel consumption rate of 200 g/h and an input rating of 9,560 Btu/Hr. Its dimensions are 12.9" x 10.9" x 4.0", and it weighs 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg).

Function Description:

The Eureka! SPRK Camp Stove is designed for cooking outdoors, providing a portable and efficient heat source. It uses butane gas as fuel, which is ignited via a Piezo-Electric system. The stove features a burner head, pan supporter, windshield, and a drip pan for ease of use and maintenance. A control/ignition knob allows users to adjust the flame and ignite the stove, while a canister locking lever secures the fuel canister in place. The appliance is equipped with a safety device that stops gas flow if pressure in the canister becomes too high, typically due to overheating.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: 2572200
  • Type of Ignition: Piezo-Electric
  • Fuel Type: Butane (227 Grams / 8 Oz. DOT-2P/2Q (RVR) non-refillable fuel gas canisters)
  • Fuel Consumption: 200 g/h
  • Input Rating: 9,560 Btu/Hr
  • Dimensions: 12.9" x 10.9" x 4.0"
  • Weight: 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg)
  • Regulator Outlet Pressure: 1.1 psi
  • Safety Compliance: ANS Z21.72-CSA 11.2-2016 Camp Stove

Usage Features:

  • Ignition: The stove can be ignited by turning the Control Knob counter-clockwise until a click is heard, indicating a spark has been produced. For match lighting, a lighted match is held next to the burner while slowly turning the Control Knob counter-clockwise.
  • Flame Adjustment: The Control Knob allows for adjustment of the flame to desired heat levels, indicated by "HIGH" and "LOW" flame indicators. The flame should ideally be blue with a hint of yellow tip.
  • Fuel Canister Connection: To connect a gas canister, the canister lever must be in the "UNLOCK" position, and the Control Knob in the "OFF" position. The notch on the canister's collar must align with the safety guide inside the stove connection. Once inserted, the canister lever is pushed down to the "LOCK" position.
  • Safety Device: The stove incorporates a safety device that automatically stops gas flow if the canister pressure becomes too high (e.g., from overheating). To resume use after activation, the control knob must be turned to "OFF," the canister lever returned to "UNLOCK," and the canister removed. The stove must be allowed to cool before re-inserting a canister and following the setup procedure.
  • Windshield: The integrated windshield helps protect the flame from wind, improving cooking efficiency outdoors.
  • Pan Support: A pan supporter is included to hold cookware securely over the burner.
  • Portability: Its compact dimensions and light weight make it easily transportable for outdoor activities.
  • Clearances: Minimum clearances from combustible materials are 1m / 3.3 ft during operation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The burner head should be cleaned with a stiff brush. Greasy parts of the stove can be cleaned with a soft cloth, soap, and water.
  • Electrode and Burner Gap: The electrode and burner gap should be kept free from debris to ensure easy lighting.
  • Grease Buildup: The stove should be cleaned frequently to prevent grease buildup.
  • Fuel Canister Storage: When not in use or in storage, the fuel canister must always be removed from the stove. Canisters should be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of reach of children, and not in buildings, garages, or other enclosed areas.
  • Stove Storage: The stove itself can be stored indoors once the canister is removed, in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, out of reach of children.
  • Leak Check: Leaks should be checked using soapy water; bubbles indicate a leak. Never use a flame to check for leaks.
  • Recommended Maintenance Frequency: The manufacturer recommends maintenance once a year.

Important Safety Warnings:

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: This appliance produces carbon monoxide, which is odorless and can be fatal. It must never be used in enclosed spaces such as campers, tents, cars, or homes. Ample ventilation is required, as the appliance consumes oxygen.
  • Gas Leaks: If gas is smelled, do not attempt to light the appliance, extinguish any open flames, disconnect from the fuel supply, evacuate immediately, and allow gas to dissipate for 5 minutes before relighting.
  • Flammable Materials: Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable liquids near the appliance. Do not use the stove in spaces containing volatile or airborne combustibles.
  • Overheating: Do not overheat the stove. Do not use a pan larger than 11" as this can cover the fuel compartment and cause the canister to overheat. Avoid direct sunlight or other heat sources exceeding 120°F.
  • Multiple Stoves: Do not use two or more stoves adjacent to each other or covered by a single pan or metal sheet.
  • Cookware: Never use aluminum foil or ceramic cookware on the stove. Never heat an empty pan.
  • Windy Conditions: Do not use in windy conditions as the flame may be extinguished.
  • Unattended Use: Never leave the stove unattended when hot or in use.
  • Children: Keep out of reach of children at all times.
  • Ventilation: Do not obstruct the flow of ventilation or combustion air around the appliance.
  • Fuel Canister Handling: Never store butane near high heat, open flames, pilot lights, direct sunlight, or where temperatures exceed 120°F (49°C). Never install or remove a butane canister while the stove is lighted, near flame, or hot to touch.
  • Gas Supply: Do not connect to a remote gas supply.
  • Ignition Failure: If the stove does not light after three attempts, turn off the gas supply, remove the canister, shake it to verify it's not empty, and contact customer service if needed. If gas is escaping, it could cause an accident.
  • Room Ventilation (Gas Odor): If gas odor is strong, evacuate the building and seek professional assistance. Ventilate the room and do not turn on any source of ignition until the room has been well ventilated.
