Use fresh dishwasher detergent stored in a cool, dry place; discard old or caked detergent. Add detergent just before starting the dishwasher. If using the Delay program, ensure the dispenser is dry before adding detergent. The detergent compartment opens only in main wash programs, not the Rinse program.

If water backs up into the sink, inspect the garbage disposer and trap for blockages. Inspect the dishwasher filters and drain area for any obstructions. Finally, check the drain hose for any kinks.

Note that the system is designed to detect an overflow; it will shut off the circulation pump and turn on the drain pump if it does.
