k) Planyourwork.Everytimeyouchangethe
bevelormitreanglesetting,makesurethe
adjustablefenceissetcorrectlytosupportthe
workpieceandwillnotinterferewiththebladeor
theguardingsystem. Withoutturningthetool ²ON²
andwithnoworkpieceonthetable,movethesaw
bladethroughacompletesimulatedcuttoassure
therewillbenointerferenceordangerofcuttingthe
fence.
l) Provideadequatesupportsuchastable
extensions,sawhorses,etc.foraworkpiecethat
iswiderorlongerthanthetabletop. Workpieces
longerorwiderthanthemitresawtablecantipifnot
securelysupported.Ifthecut-offpieceorworkpiece
tips,itcanliftthelowerguardorbethrownbythe
spinningblade.
m) Donotuseanotherpersonasasubstitutefor
atableextensionorasadditionalsupport.
Unstablesupportfortheworkpiececancausethe
bladetobindortheworkpiecetoshiftduringthe
cuttingoperationpullingyouandthehelperintothe
spinningblade.
n) Thecut-offpiecemustnotbejammedor
pressedbyanymeansagainstthespinningsaw
blade. Ifconfined,i.e.usinglengthstops,thecut-off
piececouldgetwedgedagainstthebladeand
thrownviolently.
o) Alwaysuseaclamporafixturedesignedto
properlysupportroundmaterialsuchasrodsor
tubing. Rodshaveatendencytorollwhilebeingcut,
causingthebladeto ²bite² andpulltheworkwithyour
handintotheblade.
p) Letthebladereachfullspeedbefore
contactingtheworkpiece. Thiswillreducetherisk
oftheworkpiecebeingthrown.
q) Iftheworkpieceorbladebecomesjammed,
turnthemitresawoff.Waitforallmovingpartsto
stopanddisconnecttheplugfromthepower
sourceand/orremovethebatterypack.Then
worktofreethejammedmaterial. Continued
sawingwithajammedworkpiececouldcauselossof
controlordamagetothe.mitresaw.
r) Afterfinishingthecut,releasetheswitch,hold
thesawheaddownandwaitforthebladetostop
beforeremovingthecut-offpiece. Reachingwith
yourhandnearthecoastingbladeisdangerous.
s) Holdthehandlefirmlywhenmakingan
incompletecutorwhenreleasingtheswitch
beforethesawheadiscompletelyinthedown
position. Thebrakingactionofthesawmaycause
thesawheadtobesuddenlypulleddownward,
causingariskofinjury.

improvegripandtofurtherreducetheriskofinjury.
10.Priortotheuseofinsertiontools,makesurethat
allprotectivedevicesareproperlyfastened.
