This document describes the EZVIZ Smart Button, a device designed to work in conjunction with an EZVIZ Zigbee Smart Gateway for various smart home functionalities.

Function Description

The EZVIZ Smart Button is a versatile device that allows users to perform custom operations or scenes within the EZVIZ app. It can be configured to trigger actions based on single presses, double presses, or press-and-hold actions. When used with a gateway, it can enter an emergency call mode if the "Emergency Button" feature is enabled in the settings, disabling its original arm and disarm functions. The device also supports an "add device" mode for pairing with a gateway.

LED Indicator States:
- Fast-flashing Blue: Enters device adding mode.
- Fast-flashing Blue and then off: Successfully added to the Gateway.
- Fast-flashing Blue and then off in 180 seconds: Failed to be added to the gateway.
Recommended Installation Distance from Gateway: Less than 20m (with no more than 2 walls between them).
Operating Environment: The manual does not specify operating temperature or humidity ranges, but general smart home device considerations apply.

Usage Features

Adding the Device: The Smart Button must be used with an EZVIZ Zigbee Smart Gateway. The gateway itself needs to be added to the EZVIZ Cloud first. There are two methods to add the Smart Button to the gateway:

Method One: Add by Scanning QR Code:
- Log into the EZVIZ app and tap the device adding icon to open the QR code scanning interface.
- Scan the QR code found on the user manual.
- Follow the in-app wizard to complete the addition to the gateway.
- After adding, align the cover detaching convex with the cover detaching groove and rotate clockwise to tighten the cover.
Method Two: Add by the Gateway:
- Place the Smart Button as close to the gateway as possible.
- Make the gateway enter device adding mode (refer to the gateway's user manual).
- Press and hold the RESET button on the Smart Button for over 5 seconds until its indicator turns fast-flashing blue, signifying it has entered adding mode.
- The Smart Button will automatically be added to the gateway.
- Align the cover detaching convex with the cover detaching groove and rotate clockwise to tighten the cover.

Installation: The Smart Button offers flexible installation options:

On a Table: It can simply be placed on a flat surface.
Stick to a Surface: The device comes with double-sided tape on its cover, allowing it to be stuck to a desired location.

Important Installation Considerations:

Avoid installing on metal doors, as metal can cause signal attenuation. If necessary, install on walls beside metal doors.
Ensure the distance between the Smart Button and the gateway is less than 20m.
If walls are present, the number of walls between the devices should not exceed two.
Before sticking the Smart Button, clean the surface to remove dust.
Do not stick the Smart Button on limewashed walls.

Operations on the EZVIZ App: Once added, the Smart Button can be managed through the EZVIZ app (note that the app interface may vary with updates).

Homepage: From the homepage of the related gateway, users can manage their detector and view its detection log.
Settings:
- Device Name: Customize the name of the Smart Button.
- Emergency Button: Enable this feature to switch the device to emergency call mode, disabling its original arm and disarm functions.
- Related Devices: View the gateway connected to the detector.
- Device Information: Access detailed information about the device.
- Share: Share the device with other users.
- Delete Device: Remove the detector from the EZVIZ cloud.

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement:

The Smart Button uses a CR2032 210mAh battery.
To replace the battery, first remove the cover by turning the antiskid ring counterclockwise.
Remove the old battery and insert the new CR2032 battery with the positive side facing up.
When handling the circuit board, ensure hands are dry and clean.
After replacement, align the cover detaching convex with the cover detaching groove and rotate clockwise to tighten the cover.

General Maintenance:

The manual emphasizes keeping the device clean, especially the surface where it will be stuck, to ensure proper adhesion.
Regularly check the EZVIZ app for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

This Smart Button is designed to integrate seamlessly into the EZVIZ smart home ecosystem, offering a simple yet effective way to trigger actions and enhance home automation.
