Securing Your Caravan

Use wheel chocks, wheel clamp, or hitch lock when parked and unhitched.

Torque Settings

Tighten wheel nuts to 125Nm, hitch bolts to 150Nm, and pivot bolts to 180Nm.

Brakes and Handbrake

Brake Controller

Adjustable controller for braking capability, variable force, and emergency braking.

Trailer Plug Wiring

Breakaway Switch

Adjuster

Adjust handbrake cable tension by turning the adjuster wheel clockwise.

Correct Use of Your Electric Brakes

Synchronise trailer brakes with tow vehicle. Maintain and adjust brakes as per controller manual.

Brake Adjustment

Adjust brakes after first 500km and at 10,000km intervals or as use requires.

Brake Cleaning and Inspection

Inspect and service trailer brakes at 10,000km. Check magnets and shoes for wear.

Inspect and replace electromagnets if worn unevenly. Replace in pairs.

Shoes and Linings

Inspect brake linings for wear, contamination, or scoring. Replace in pairs.

Corrosion Prevention

Protect fittings from corrosion using sprays, especially near oceans or waterways.

Recommended tyre pressures: 36-70 psi depending on ATM. Check wheel nuts.
