Overview

This document provides instructions for the installation, use, and maintenance of a kitchen hood.

Function Description

The device is a kitchen hood designed to extract cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen. It can operate in two modes: extraction (venting outside) or recirculation (filtering and returning air to the kitchen). The hood is designed for installation above a cooking hob.

Important Technical Specifications

Dimensions:

  • Overall width: 600 mm, 750 mm, 900 mm, or 1200 mm (depending on model).
  • Depth: 297 mm.
  • Height of the main body: 260 mm.
  • Minimum distance from the cooking hob: 410 mm for electric hobs, 490 mm for gas hobs.
  • Duct diameter: Ø 120 mm or Ø 150 mm for extraction mode.
  • Recirculation kit includes a charcoal filter (W).

Installation Requirements:

  • The hood must be installed at a minimum distance from the cooking hob to ensure safety and optimal performance. For electric hobs, the minimum distance is 410 mm, and for gas hobs, it is 490 mm.
  • The exhaust duct should have a diameter of Ø 120 mm or Ø 150 mm.
  • The installation surface must be strong enough to support the weight of the hood.
  • Electrical connection requires a properly grounded outlet.

Usage Features

Control Panel: The hood features a control panel, likely with buttons or touch controls, to manage its functions.

Operating Modes:

  • Extraction Mode: Air is drawn from the kitchen, filtered, and expelled outside through a duct. This mode requires an external exhaust system.
  • Recirculation Mode: Air is drawn from the kitchen, passed through grease filters and charcoal filters (for odor removal), and then returned to the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible. The charcoal filter (W) is essential for recirculation mode.

Lighting: The hood is equipped with lighting to illuminate the cooking area.

Grease Filters (Z): The hood includes metallic grease filters (Z) that capture grease particles from cooking fumes. These filters are removable for cleaning.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Grease Filters (Z):

  • The metallic grease filters (Z) should be cleaned regularly to maintain the hood's efficiency.
  • They can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher.
  • To remove, press the release tab and pull down the filter.
  • After cleaning, ensure the filters are completely dry before reinserting them.

Replacing Charcoal Filters (W):

  • If the hood is used in recirculation mode, the charcoal filter (W) needs to be replaced periodically, typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
  • The charcoal filter is not washable and must be replaced when saturated.
  • To replace, remove the grease filters, then remove the old charcoal filter by rotating or unlatching it. Install the new charcoal filter in the same manner.

Cleaning the Hood Body:

  • The exterior of the hood should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive detergent.
  • Avoid using corrosive or abrasive cleaning products, as they can damage the surface.

Light Bulb Replacement:

  • If the hood uses replaceable light bulbs, refer to the manual for instructions on how to safely replace them. Ensure the hood is disconnected from the power supply before attempting any bulb replacement.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always disconnect the hood from the power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
  • Wear protective gloves during installation and maintenance to prevent injuries.
  • Ensure proper ventilation in the kitchen, especially when using gas hobs, to avoid negative pressure.
  • Do not flambé under the hood.
  • Do not leave frying pans unattended during operation, as overheated oil can ignite.

Installation Steps:

  1. Preparation: Mark the drilling points on the wall according to the provided template and dimensions. Ensure the minimum distances from the hob are respected.
  2. Mounting the Hood Body: Secure the hood body to the wall using the provided screws and anchors (A, B, C, C1, C2, D).
  3. Duct Connection: Connect the exhaust duct (Ø 120 mm or Ø 150 mm) to the hood's outlet for extraction mode. For recirculation mode, install the charcoal filter (W) and ensure the air outlet is clear.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect the hood to a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Installing Grease Filters: Insert the metallic grease filters (Z) into their slots.
  6. Installing Decorative Chimney (G): If applicable, install the decorative chimney (G) to cover the exhaust duct.

The manual also includes warnings in multiple languages, emphasizing the importance of reading the instructions carefully before installation and use to ensure safety and proper operation. It advises consulting a qualified technician for installation if unsure.
