Phantom Power

COMP/LIMIT
- A low noise com-
pressor/limiter that works fast and
effectively, tightening up the sound and
preventing the bass head from saturating at
peaks when approaching the headroom
limit. A string may be plucked very hard
and fast, without any greater difference in
level or side effects.
This compressor also incorporates a
passive peak-level limiter which removes
unwanted solid state distorsion from the
filter section, providing a touch of the
distinguished warmth and depth of tubes.
The COMP/LIMIT knob sets the
compression ratio, i.e. the signal strength
relation between the input and output. The
higher ratio the more compression.
The LED intensity dynamically indi-
cates the amount of compression during
play.

denna funktion användas, tag bort 9 Volts
batteriet ur basen och kortslut över batteri-
hållarens + och - pol.
Då strömmatning från EBS Fafner till
instrumentet önskas skall en stereotele-
propp användas.
Strömmatningen kan enkelt kopplas bort
om man inte vill utnyttja denna möjlighet
eller t.ex. har ett instrument som inte krä-
ver batteri för att fungera. Tryck då ut
omkopplaren på bakpanelen märkt

INPUT
- A low noise, high impedance
instrument input that also will power active
pickups and circuitry. If you want to use
this function, take away the 9 Volt battery
from your bass and strap + and - pole on
the battery holder.
Use a standard stereo jack plug, when
using the phantom powering from the EBS
Fafner.
The power is switchable on or off if you
do not wish to use this feature, or if you
have a passive instrument without built-in
electronics. Set the
Phantom Power
switch
at the rear panel to outer position to defeat
the phantom power.

VIKTIGT: Om du använder phantom
matningen/strömmatningen se till att GAIN
eller VOLUME ratten är nerdragen när du
kopplar in/ut instrumentkabeln.
GAIN - Här justeras instrumentets
signalstyrka till rätt arbetsnivå för vidare
bearbetning i EBS Fafner.
För bästa grundnivå, vrid upp GAIN
kontrollen tills PEAK blinkar till vid
högsta utsignal från instrumentet.
IMPORTANT: If you are using the
phantom powering make sure the GAIN or
the VOLUME knob is set to zero while
plugging in the instrument cable.
GAIN - Control to adjust the instruments'
signal strength to the right operating level
in the EBS Fafner.
For optimum basic signal level, turn
up the GAIN knob until the PEAK led
starts flashing from the strongest signal
from the instrument.
COMP/LIMIT - Är en lågbrusig och
mycket snabb kompressor/limiter som
utjämnar volymtoppar likt en stötdämpare.
T.ex. så kan en sträng kan slås an mycket
snabbt och kraftigt utan att nivån förändras
nämnvärt från det lugna spelandet, utan
störande bieffekter.
Denna kompressor innehåller även en
passiv s.k. topp-limiter som tar bort
oönskad transistordist ifrån filtren, och ger
ljudet det typiskt varma och mjuka
rörsoundet
COMP/LIMIT ratten bestämmer
kompressionsgraden, d.v.s. förhållandet
in/ut för kompressorn. Ju högre förhållande
desto mer kompression.
Lysdioden indikerar dynamiskt hur
mycket kompressorn arbetar när du spelar.
