Do you have a question about the FAIP PowerWasher RN2200 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document is an operation manual for a Powerwasher by FAIP, model 60112-RN2200. It provides essential information for safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the pressure washer.

Function Description:

The Powerwasher is a device designed for high-pressure cleaning tasks. It utilizes a high-pressure pump driven by an engine to increase the water supply pressure, delivering a powerful spray through a gun and spray wand. The pressurized water, optionally mixed with cleaning agents, is used to remove dirt and grime from various surfaces. The multi-adjustable spray wand allows the user to control the water flow rate, direction, and pressure, offering versatility for different cleaning needs. The unit is equipped with wheels for portability and includes a chemical injection system for enhanced cleaning effectiveness.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: 60112-RN2200
  • Max Pressure: 2200 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)
  • Max Flow: 2.1 GPM (Gallons Per Minute)
  • Water Supply Requirements: Minimum 20 psi and 5 gallons per minute.
  • Tire Pressure: Refer to the tire sidewall for correct pressure.

Usage Features:

The pressure washer is designed for user-friendly operation with several key features:

  • Engine: The engine drives the high-pressure pump. Users should refer to the separate engine manual for detailed information on engine controls, including the choke control, starter grip, and engine switch.
  • High Pressure Pump: This component increases the pressure of the water supply. The pump on this unit is maintenance-free and requires no oil.
  • High Pressure Hose: Carries pressurized water from the pump to the gun and spray wand.
  • Spray Gun: Connects with the spray wand to control water flow rate, direction, and pressure.
  • Multi-Adjustable Spray Wand: This versatile wand allows the user to switch between high and low pressure settings and adjust the spray pattern from a pencil stream (0°) to a wide-angle fan spray (40°). This adjustment is crucial for minimizing pressure on delicate surfaces.
  • Chemical Hose (Chemical Injection System): This hose feeds cleaning agents into the pump to mix with the water, improving cleaning effectiveness. Chemicals and soaps will only siphon when the spray wand is used with the black nozzle.
  • Pressure Adjustments: The pressure setting is factory preset for optimum performance. To lower the pressure, users can either increase the distance from the surface being cleaned or rotate the nozzle on the multi-adjustable spray wand to widen the fan spray.
  • Bypass Mode: The pump enters bypass mode when the gun trigger is not pulled, allowing water to recirculate. It is crucial not to run the unit in bypass mode for more than two minutes to prevent overheating and pump damage.
  • Thermal Relief Valve (not shown): This valve opens to release a gush of water if the internal pump temperature rises too high, helping to lower the temperature and then closing.
  • Starting Procedure:
    1. Ensure the unit is in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
    2. Check engine oil level.
    3. Connect the water hose to the water source and allow water to flow through to remove air.
    4. Verify the filter screen in the water inlet of the pump.
    5. Connect the water source to the pump inlet.
    6. Connect the high-pressure hose to the pump outlet.
    7. If applying chemicals, follow the instructions for the chemical injection system.
    8. Turn on the water source.
    9. Remove all air from the pump and high-pressure hose by depressing the trigger until a steady stream of water is present.
    10. Start the engine (refer to the engine manual).
    11. If the engine does not start after two pulls, squeeze the gun trigger to relieve pump pressure. Pull the starter cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to avoid kickback.
    12. Depress the trigger on the gun to start water flow.
    13. Release the trigger to stop water flow.
    14. Adjust the nozzle spray for the task.
  • Shutting Down Procedure:
    1. After chemical use, rinse the chemical injection system with clean water.
    2. Turn off the engine.
    3. Turn off the water source.
    4. Pull the trigger on the spray gun to relieve water pressure.
    5. Follow storage procedures.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for efficient operation and longevity of the pressure washer.

  • Engine Maintenance: Consult the Engine Owners Manual for manufacturer's recommendations. The engine drain plug is at the rear of the unit.
  • Pump Maintenance: The pump is maintenance-free and requires no oil. For problems, contact an Authorized Service Center.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: If the nozzle becomes clogged, excessive pressure may develop, or the pump pressure will pulsate.
    1. Shut off the pressure washer and water supply.
    2. Disconnect the spark plug wire.
    3. Pull the gun trigger to relieve pressure.
    4. Disconnect the wand from the gun.
    5. Remove the nozzle from the wand using a 2mm allen wrench.
    6. Clean the nozzle with the provided nozzle cleaner or a straightened paper clip.
    7. Direct water supply into the nozzle end to backflush loosened particles for 30 seconds.
    8. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
  • Water Inlet Filter Cleaning: This screen filter should be checked and cleaned periodically.
    1. Remove the filter from the water inlet of the pump.
    2. Clean the filter by flushing with water on both sides.
    3. Re-insert the filter into the water inlet. Do not operate without the filter installed.

Storage:

Proper storage is crucial, especially when storing the unit for more than 30 days or when freezing temperatures are expected.

  • Engine Storage: Consult the Engine Owners Manual for recommendations.
  • Pump Storage: The manufacturer recommends using a pump protector/winterizer. If unavailable, RV antifreeze can be used.
    1. Obtain a funnel, 6 oz. (170 mL) of RV antifreeze, and a 16-36" (40-91cm) garden hose with a male connector.
    2. Disconnect the spark plug wire.
    3. Connect the garden hose to the water inlet of the pump.
    4. Add RV antifreeze to the hose.
    5. Pull the engine starter rope slowly several times until antifreeze comes out of the high-pressure hose connection.
    6. Remove the garden hose from the water inlet.
    7. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
  • Pressure Washer Storage:
    1. Drain all water from the high-pressure hose, coil it, and store it in the cradle of the handle.
