Overview

This document is a user manual for a Faure oven, models FOA25701XU and FOA25771XU. It provides essential information for safe installation, operation, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Faure oven is designed for household cooking purposes, offering various heating functions to bake, roast, and grill food. It features a control panel with knobs for selecting oven functions and temperature, a display, and indicators for power and temperature. The oven includes a cooling fan that operates automatically to keep surfaces cool during and after use. A safety thermostat is integrated to prevent overheating by temporarily interrupting the power supply if the temperature becomes too high.

The oven offers several cooking functions:

  • Light: Turns on the oven lamp without a cooking function.
  • Fan Cooking: Ideal for roasting and baking food at the same temperature on multiple shelf positions without flavour transference.
  • Moist Fan Baking: An energy-saving function designed for cooking with residual heat, where the oven door should remain closed. The temperature in the cavity may differ from the set temperature due to reduced heating power. This function complies with energy efficiency class EN 60350-1.
  • Bottom Heat: Used for baking cakes with a crispy bottom and for preserving food.
  • Grilling: For grilling flat food and toasting bread.
  • Fast Grilling: For grilling larger quantities of flat food and toasting bread.
  • Pizza Setting: For roasting larger meat joints or poultry with bones on one shelf position, as well as making gratins and browning.
  • Conventional Cooking (Top / Bottom Heat): For baking and roasting food on one shelf position. This function is also ideal for bread baking.

The oven also includes clock functions such as Time of Day, Duration, End Time, Time Delay, and Minute Minder, allowing for precise control over cooking times and delayed starts.

  • Accessories: Comes with a wire shelf (for cookware, cake tins, roasts) and a combi pan (for cakes, biscuits, baking, roasting, or collecting fat).
  • Preheating: The manual recommends preheating the empty oven before first use by setting a function and maximum temperature for 1 hour, then another function and maximum temperature for 15 minutes.
  • Clock Functions: Users can set the time of day, duration of cooking, end time for cooking, and a time delay for starting cooking. A minute minder function is also available for general timing.
  • Moist Fan Baking: This function is specifically designed to save energy by utilizing residual heat. The oven door should remain closed during operation to maintain energy efficiency.
  • Cooking Recommendations: Provides tables with guidelines for temperature, cooking time, and shelf position for various foods like cakes, biscuits, bread, pizza, flans, meat, and fish. It also offers advice on using deep pans for fatty foods, adding water to prevent smoke, and leaving meat to rest.
  • Energy Saving Tips: Includes general advice such as keeping the oven door closed, cleaning the door gasket, using metal dishes, and not preheating the oven unnecessarily. For longer cooking durations, reducing the oven temperature 3-10 minutes before the end of cooking is suggested to utilize residual heat.

Maintenance Features

  • General Cleaning: The oven should be cleaned regularly with a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents. Abrasive products, sharp metal scrapers, solvents, or metal objects should not be used, especially on the glass door or catalytic enamel.
  • Shelf Supports: Removable shelf supports can be pulled out for cleaning by first pulling the front and then the rear end away from the side walls. Installation is in the opposite sequence.
  • Door Glass Panels: The oven door has two glass panels that can be removed for cleaning. The process involves opening the door fully, lifting and turning levers on the hinges, closing the door halfway, and then pulling it forward to remove it from its seat. The door trim can be removed to access the inner glass panel for cleaning.
  • Catalytic Cleaning: The oven cavity features a self-cleaning catalytic coating that absorbs fat. To activate catalytic cleaning, all accessories and shelf supports should be removed, and the oven floor and inner door glass cleaned. The oven is then set to a specific function and 250 °C for 1 hour.
  • Internal Lamp Replacement: Before replacing the lamp, the oven must be turned off, cooled down, and disconnected from the mains. A cloth should be placed on the bottom of the cavity. The lamp glass cover is removed, and the lamp is replaced with a suitable 300 °C heat-resistant lamp, holding it with a cloth to prevent grease residue.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a "What to do if..." section to help users identify and resolve common issues such as the oven not heating up, the clock not being set, or a blown fuse. For more complex issues, users are advised to contact an Authorised Service Centre.
