Also, verify that the supply voltage matches the data on the pump's plate. If it's a single-phase motor, a faulty capacitor could be the culprit, so consider changing it. Finally, the rotor might be blocked by deposits; try selecting the maximum speed or manually freeing the rotor with a screwdriver.
