4 Intended use
Pre-separator suitable for:
– Extracting coarse dust up to max. 30 mm.
– Absorbing liquids.
– Use with Festool mobile dust extractors
CTL xx, CTM xx and CT xx. Not suitable for
use with Festool mobile dust extractors
CTH xx and CT xx/B22.
– Use with mobile dust extractors from other
manufacturers with antistatic function.
Not
suitable for use with dust classes M and H.
The user is liable for improper or non-in
tended use.

WARNING
Electric shock caused by missing grounding
Risk of injury
► Grounding is provided by Festool mobile
dust extractors and protective earth con
ductors.
► Check the grounding before using tools not
manufactured by Festool.
► Do not use these with a mobile dust extrac
tor unless they have a protective earth con
ductor!
► Fit the CT-VA module onto the mobile dust
extractor
[2].
► Turn the T-Loc [2-1] to connect the CT-VA
module with the mobile dust extractor.
Depending on the mobile dust extrac
tor, connect using a T-Loc or slides,
see the operating manual of the mo
bile dust extractor in question.
► Undo the black locking clips [3-1] to open
the CT-VA module.
► Remove the top section of the CT-VA mod
ule [3-2].
► Remove the extraction hose [3-3].
► Fit the top section of the CT-VA module onto
the bottom section of the CT-VA module.
Close the black locking clips.
► Connect the mobile dust extractor connect
ing hose [4-1] to the CT-VA module and the
mobile dust extractor.
► Connect the extraction hose [4-2] to the CT-
VA module.
7 Working with the pre-
separator
WARNING
Hazardous dust

► Use a dust collection bag!
► Wear a dust mask!
7.1 Inserting the dust collection bag into
the container [5]
► Open out the dust collection bag [5-1] and
press out air (see the diagram on the dust
collection bag).
► Fit the lid [5-2] so that the dust collection
bag can be pushed up from outside the con
tainer.
► Remove the lid and place the container into
the open bottom section of the CT-VA mod
ule.
► Close the black locking clips on both sides.
Ensure that the dust collection bag is not
damaged by the locking clips.
7.2 Removing the dust collection bag from
the container [6]
► Extract the remaining air from the full dust
collection bag.
► Tightly twist the opening of the dust collec
tion bag
[6-1].
► Seal the twisted opening on the dust collec
tion bag using the gathering tape.
► Fit the lid [6-2].
7.3 Replacing the container during
operation [7]
► Undo the black locking clips [7-1].
► Remove the top section of the CT-VA mod
ule
[7-2] and attach it to the new contain
er [7-3].
► Close the black locking clips [7-1].
► Removing the dust collection bag from the
container, see section 7.2 .
