Interventions with flat battery
4.1 Automatic transmission - gear lever unlocking
If, in the event of a failure, the gear lever cannot be moved from
position P (Park), the following procedure can be used to
temporarily move the gear lever.
- Switch off the engine.
- Fully engage the parking brake.
- Open the central tunnel and remove the access cover for the
gear lever release device located in the front area, in the lower
right angle, of the tunnel storage compartment.
- Keep the brake pedal fully depressed.
- Insert a screwdriver or a similar small tool in the access hole,
for keeping the release lever pressed forwards.
- Place the gear lever in N (neutral) position.
- At this point, the car can be started in N (neutral).
- Refit the access cover for the gear lever release.
