HOW TO INSTALL YOUR
DETECTOR
NOTE:Thisapparatusshouldbeinstalled
byacompetentpersonwhofeelsableto
installitaccordingtotheinstructions.
Firstly write the installation date on
your detector in the area provided. We
recommendthatyourdetectorisinstalledon
thewall.
To mount on a wall or ceiling:
Please ensure that you use the screws
provided, as they were chosen specically
forusewiththisproduct.Usethetemplate
below for guidance on marking hole
positions.Drillholesintothewall.Insertthe
plasticwallplugs.Screwinthescrews.Ensure
screwsareprotrudingfromthewallby3mm
toallowdetectortoslotontoscrews.
To place on a shelf:
Thebaseofthedetectorhasbeendesigned
toallowittostandfreelyonashelf.
WARNING: When placing on a shelf,
please adhere to the same positional
recommendations as described on pages 5
and6.

Caravansmayhaveadditionalrisksofcarbon
monoxideingressthroughairventsdue
tothenearbypresenceofothervehicles,
engines,generatorsorbarbecues,however
thisdoesnotchangethebasicguidance
onlocationofthealarm.Caravansshould
bettedwithanalarminthesameroom
asanycombustionappliance(s),located
inaccordancewithpreviousadviceinthis
section.Ifthecaravanhasasingleliving
spacewhichincorporatesthesleeping
accommodation,itcanbeconsideredto
beequivalenttoabedsit,andasingle
alarmissucient.However,anysleeping
accommodationwhichisinaseparateroom
fromthecombustionappliance(s)should
alsocontainanalarm,locatedinaccordance
withpreviousadviceinthissection.
Itisnotalwayspossibletondanoptimum
locationforanapparatus,forexample,a
smallcaravanmaynothavesuitablevertical
surfacesavailable.Nevertheless,when
ttinganapparatusinsuchsituations,the
twomostimportantconsiderationswhen
selectinganappropriatelocationare:
• Notmountingtheapparatusdirectly
aboveasourceofheatorsteam;and
• Mountingtheapparatusatadistance
of1–3mfromthenearestedgeofthe
potentialsource.
