Overview

This document is an installation guide for the Firstech CM6000 Alarm and Starter System. The CM6000 is a control module designed to provide remote start and alarm functionalities for vehicles. It is part of the Firstech Series Remote Starts and/or Alarms product line.

Function Description:

The CM6000 system offers comprehensive vehicle security and convenience features, including:

  • Remote Start: Allows users to start their vehicle remotely, with specific settings for automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Alarm System: Provides security against unauthorized access and tampering, triggered by various sensors.
  • Keyless Entry: Enables locking and unlocking of vehicle doors remotely.
  • Programmable Outputs (POCs): Features 9 programmable output channels that can be configured in 19 different ways to control various vehicle functions or aftermarket accessories.
  • Engine Sensing: Supports Tach sensing, Alternator sensing, and Tachless modes for reliable remote start operation.
  • Temperature Sensing: Integrates with an optional thermister to monitor vehicle interior temperature and enable timed hot/cold starts.
  • Backup Battery Support: Can be connected to an optional battery backup unit for continued alarm functionality during main power loss.
  • Bypass Module Integration: Features a Blade cartridge slot for seamless integration with Blade-AL and Blade-TB modules from Firstech and ADS, simplifying wiring for bypass functions.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Connector (CN1, 6-Pin):
    • Pin 1 (White): Accessory 12V positive (+) output (25 amp fuse).
    • Pin 2 (Yellow): Starter 12V positive (+) output, pre-wired to anti-grind/starter-kill relay.
    • Pin 3 (Green): Ignition 12V positive (+) output and input, pre-wired to starter kill relay.
    • Pin 4 (Black): Ground negative (-) input.
    • Pin 5 (Red): Constant 12V positive (+) power input (30 amp fuse).
    • Pin 6 (Green/White): Dual-purpose wire for positive (+) parking light output or positive (+) trunk output (10 amp fuse).
  • Optional Battery Backup Connector (CN2, 2-Pin):
    • Pin 1 (Red): Constant 12V positive (+) input and (+) charging output.
    • Pin 2 (Black): Ground (-) negative input.
  • Programmable Output Channel (POC) Connector (CN3, 20-Pin):
    • Odd Pin numbers 3 through 19 are programmable for up to 19 different output types.
    • Pin 1 (Blue): 250mA negative (-) output (armed/remote start), pre-wired to anti-grind/starter-kill relay.
    • Pin 2 (Orange/Black): Parking Light Reminder (-) input.
    • Pin 3 (Green/White) [POC 1]: Parking light 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 4 (Light Blue): Parking / Emergency brake negative (-) input.
    • Pin 5 (Red/Black) [POC 2]: 2nd Starter 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 6 (Light Blue/White): Brake 12V positive (+) input.
    • Pin 7 (Green) [POC 3]: 2nd Ignition 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 8 (Violet/Black): Trunk negative (-) input.
    • Pin 9 (White/Black) [POC 4]: 2nd Accessory 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 10 (Red/White): Door trigger input (negative (-) or positive (+) trigger).
    • Pin 11 (Black) [POC 5]: Status/Ground while running 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 12 (Brown/White): Dual-purpose wire for Glow plug positive (+) or negative (-) input / Key sense positive (+) or negative (-) input (selectable via Option 4-09).
    • Pin 13 (Orange) [POC 6]: Factory Arm 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 14 (Pink): Slave/Closed Loop negative (-) input (selectable via Option 4-10).
    • Pin 15 (Orange/White) [POC 7]: Factory Disarm 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 16 (Yellow/Black): Engine sensing input (Tach or Alternator).
    • Pin 17 (White) [POC 8]: Horn honk 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 18 (Gray/Black): Hood Pin negative (-) input.
    • Pin 19 (Violet) [POC 9]: Auxiliary 1 - 250mA negative (-) output (pulsed, latched, or timed).
    • Pin 20 (Brown): Siren 12V positive (+) output.
  • Blade Connector (CN4, 20 Pin): For Blade-AL or Blade-TB modules.
  • Door Lock Module Connector (CN5, 6-Pin):
    • Pin 2 (Violet/White): Trunk release 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 3 (Orange/Black): 2nd Unlock 250mA negative (-) output (driver's priority).
    • Pin 4 (Blue): Unlock 250mA negative (-) output.
    • Pin 5 (Blue/Black): Lock 250mA (-) negative output.
  • RS232 Data Port (CN6, 4-Pin): For updating control modules and flashing Blade bypass modules, and communicating with DroneMobile controllers.
  • Valet/Programming Switch Connector (CN7, 3-Pin):
    • Pin 1 (Gray/Black): Negative (-) ground.
    • Pin 2 (Gray): 3V positive (+) L.E.D. output.
    • Pin 3 (Gray): Negative (-) output.
  • Thermister Connector (CN8, 2-Pin):
    • Pin 1 (Black): Thermister.
    • Pin 2 (Black/White): Thermister.
  • Antenna Module Connector (CN9, 4-Pin to 4-Pin or 6-Pin):
    • Pin 1 (Yellow): RX input.
    • Pin 2 (White): TX output.
    • Pin 3 (Red): Constant 12V positive (+) output.
    • Pin 4 (Black): Ground.
  • DAS Shock Sensor (CN13, Red): Dual-stage impact sensor.
  • Remote Pager Sensor (CN12, White): For remote paging functionality.
  • LED (CN11, White): Status indicator.
  • Temperature Sensor (CN8, Blue): For vehicle interior temperature monitoring.

Usage Features:

  • Remote Programming: Remotes are programmed by cycling the ignition ON/OFF five times within 7 seconds, then tapping Button 1 (or Lock button for one-way remotes) on each remote. Up to three remotes can be programmed.
  • RPS Touch (Remote Paging Sensor): An optional sensor mounted on the windshield with multiple features:
    • Status LED: Provides visual feedback.
    • Remote Notification: Pages the remote when triggered.
    • Auto Unlock/Alarm Disarm: Activated by entering a user-specific 4-digit knock code (numbers 1-10) by tapping the sensor.
    • Relock/Rearm: Hold finger over 'Red Circle' for 2.5 seconds.
    • Sensitivity Adjustment: Open driver's door, hold button on back of RPS Touch until LEDs go out, release, then tap again. Number of solid LEDs indicates sensitivity (1-5).
    • On/Off: Can be toggled via remote programming mode (buttons 2+3 for 2.5 seconds, then button 3 or 4 to scroll to "RPS-ON", then button 1 to toggle).
  • DAS Sensor: Monitors forward movement for manual transmission remote start, dual-stage impact, and auto-adjusting tilt.
    • Installation: Set Option 4-12 to Setting 2, set switches 1 and 2 on DAS (ON for 3 Degree Tilt, OFF for 1.5 Degree Tilt; ON for 4 Inch Movement, OFF for 3 Inch Movement), connect cable to red 4-pin port on CM6 module, mount securely.
    • Shock Sensitivity Adjustment: Turn ignition ON, hold buttons 1+2 (2W remotes) or Lock+Unlock (1W remotes) for 2.5 seconds. Tap button 1 (Warn Away Zone 1) or button 2 (Instant Trigger Zone 2) and tap vehicle to set sensitivity (1-10 chirps).
  • Firstech Shock Sensor: Mount by zip-tying to ignition harness or using hardware. Dial (Off-10) adjusts sensitivity for 1st and 2nd stages (recommended 2-4).
  • Siren: Duration time when alarm is triggered can be adjusted via Option 3-07 (default 30 seconds).
  • Thermister (Temperature Sensor): Plugs into 2-pin port (blue on CM6000). Allows 2-Way remotes to display vehicle interior temperature and enables timed Hot/Cold starting (Options 2-05, 2-07, 2-08).
  • Hood Pin: Triggers alarm if hood is opened while armed, and prevents remote start if hood is open.
  • Jumper Settings:
    • Jumper 1 (Door Trigger Polarity): Default is negative (-); move jumper for positive (+).
    • Jumper 2 (Glow Plug or Key Sense Polarity): Default is positive (+) glow plug; move jumper for negative (-). Change Option 4-09 to switch to key sense.
    • Jumper 3 (Parking Light or Trunk Output): Default is positive (+) parking light output; move jumper for positive (+) trunk output.
  • Auxiliary Outputs (POCs): Configured using the OP500 Option Programmer.
  • Tach Sensing: Default engine sensing mode. Recommended to use injector wire.
    • Learning Procedure: Start vehicle, hold foot brake, activate remote start for 2.5 seconds. One chirp/flash indicates success; three chirps/flashes indicate failure.
  • Alternator Sensing: Alternative engine sensing mode (Option 2-10, setting 2). Stator wire should test 0V DC (off), 4-6V DC (on), 12-14V DC (idle).
  • Tachless Mode (Automatic Transmission Only): Alternative engine sensing mode (Option 2-10, setting 3). No tach connection required. Crank time adjustable via Option 2-12.
  • Timed Crank Setting (Automatic Transmissions Only): Option 2-10, setting 4 provides 1.5 second crank.
  • Green/White Loop: Determines transmission setting. Uncut for manual transmission (default); cut for automatic transmission.
  • Reservation Mode (Manual Transmissions): Required for manual transmission remote start.
    • Activation: Start vehicle, neutral, release pedal brake, set emergency/parking brake. Remove key (engine should remain running). Exit and close door (engine should shut off).
  • Version Diagnostics: Turn ignition ON, hold buttons 1+4 (2W remotes) or Lock+Key/Start (1W remotes) for 2.5 seconds. First flash indicates current version.
