AUDIO SIGNAL COMPATIBILITY GUIDE
This Soundbase does not support Dolby Digital Audio or DTS Audio. If you are experiencing Optical
Input issues you may need to change the audio output settings on your source devices. The AB40
supports PCM audio but different devices refer to this format differently. For instructions on a
specic device please consult the device’s user manual. Please see below for a guide on this process
and additional information.
Note: The audio output format may need to be changed on the TV and also on the source device.
Devices
TV/Cable Box/Satellite Box
Apple TV
PlayStation 4
Xbox One
TV/Cable Box/Satellite Box
Locate Audio Output Settings and ensure Dolby Digital is turned off. This setting is sometimes
referred to as PCM or Stereo.
Some TVs also require that audio output be enabled. This setting may be referred to as External
Speakers. Ensure this is selected as your speaker/audio output.
Apple TV
1. Go to Settings and Select Audio and Video
2. Set Dolby Digital to Off
PlayStation 4
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Sound and Screen
3. Select Audio Output Settings
4. Select Audio Format (Priority)
5. Select Linear PCM
Xbox One
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Display & sound
3. Select HDMI audio or Optical audio
4. Set to Stereo uncompressed
Other Devices
All devices should have the option to change the format of the optical audio output. If you cannot
locate the option in the devices
