This document describes the For Living 60" Ceiling Fan (Model No. 052-9715-2), a ceiling fan designed for residential use, offering both cooling and air circulation functionalities.
Function Description
The For Living 60" Ceiling Fan is designed to provide air circulation in living spaces. It features a reversible motor that allows for both forward and reverse direction functions, enabling year-round use. In the forward (counter-clockwise) setting, it creates a cooling effect by circulating hot air away from the living space, ideal for warmer weather. In the reverse (clockwise) setting, it re-circulates warm air, suitable for cooler weather. The fan is operated via a remote control, which allows for speed adjustment and fan on/off control.
Important Technical Specifications

- Full height after installation: 13 13/16 inches (35 cm)
- Weight: 16 lb 8 oz (7.5 kg)
- Electrical rating: 120 V, 60 Hz, 3.5 A
- Max. Motor A: 1.0
- Remote Control: Equipped with 16 code combinations to prevent interference with other remote units. Requires a 9V battery (included).
- Installation: Designed for drop-mount installation, suitable for sloped, vaulted, or high ceilings. Can be installed on wooden or normal masonry ceilings, provided the outlet box is marked "Acceptable for Fan Support."
- Safety: Must be installed with a wall control/switch to reduce the risk of shock. The safety cable must be secured to the ceiling joist to prevent the fan from falling.
Usage Features
- Remote Control Operation: The fan comes with a remote control (Model SS-T03N) for convenient operation. The remote has buttons for high speed (3 key), medium speed (2 key), low speed (1 key), and fan off (0 key). It also includes an indicator light.
- Operating Distance: The remote control has an operating distance of 20 feet (6.1 m). If the remote doesn't work at this distance, users are advised to try placing the brown antenna wire higher, through the ceiling or outside the junction box.
- Forward and Reverse Direction: A reverse switch on the fan's switch housing allows users to change the direction of blade rotation.
- Forward Function (Counter-clockwise): Creates a cooling effect, circulating hot air upwards and away.
- Reverse Function (Clockwise): Re-circulates warm air, useful for cooler weather.
- Important Note: Do not change the direction of rotation while the fan blades are in motion. Turn off the fan and wait for the blades to stop rotating before setting the switch.
- Wall Mounting for Remote: An optional wall mount holder is provided for the remote control, allowing it to be screwed into a wall in an accessible area.
- Compatibility: The ceiling fan and light kit assembly must not be used with solid state fans.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Checks: Due to the fan's natural movement, connections may loosen over time. It is recommended to check the support connections, brackets, and blade attachments twice a year to ensure they are secure.
- Lubrication: The motor has permanently lubricated bearings, so there is no need to oil the fan.
- Cleaning: Periodically dust the fan with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaners or materials that could damage the unit. When cleaning, support the blades to prevent bending. Do not allow water to come into contact with the fan blades or the ceiling fan to prevent fire or shock hazards.
- Wobbling Problem Solution (Balance Kit): A balance kit is provided to address wobbling issues.
- Initial Check: Place the clip on the center of a blade. Turn on the fan and observe if the wobble persists.
- Trial and Error: If wobbling continues, move the clip to another blade until the wobble is reduced.
- Counterweight Application: Once the optimal blade is identified, place the clip on that blade and move it along the blade from the center to the tip until the wobble disappears.
- Permanent Fix: Paste the counterweight (from the balance pieces) on the surface of the blade near the clip's final position, then remove the clip and re-test the fan. If vibrations persist, apply another counterweight or try a different area.
- Assembly and maintenance must be carried out by adults only.
- Wear protective gloves as some parts may have sharp edges.
- Assemble all parts on a level surface, adding a protective layer if needed, to prevent damage.
- Steel components may oxidize (rust) if the protective coating is scratched. Handle the product carefully during assembly to prevent scratches.
- Read the entire manual carefully before assembly, operation, or installation.
- Ensure the furniture is used correctly and safely to avoid hazards or damage.
- The fan must be grounded for safe operation. Consult a licensed electrician if unsure about grounding the outlet box.
- Turn off power at the main distribution panel before wiring to prevent electric shock.
