2006 Taurus
Quality/Reliability/Durability
Taurus is thoroughly tested. First Taurus engineers subject it to rigorous trials. Then Taurus faces the challenge of standing up to
just about anything owners and their families can dish out. No problem — Taurus was designed with quality and reliability in
mind. It passes the dependability test with flying colors.
Platinum-tipped Spark Plugs
• Last longer than conventional spark plugs
• Added convenience and reduced
service requirements — contribute to
100,000-mile scheduled tune-up intervals

• Regular fluid and filter changes are
still required
Engineering Insights
Taurus is a vehicle customers can trust. That’s because in
creating Taurus, trained reliability engineers defined and
met quality goals for 14 high-priority vehicle systems.
Taurus is tested to the extreme — from corrosion testing
with salt spray booths, to water spray jets that seek out
water leaks, to water ingestion testing that measures the
engine’s ability to resist stalling in extreme situations.
Selected Taurus vehicles coming off the assembly line go
through a comprehensive 30-mile test-drive, including a
water test and a review of sheet metal, paint, interior
trim and functional items.
