Wiper Self-Test
Are any DTCs retrieved?
Yes
If DTC B1454, refer to Section 413-01.
If DTC B1456, refer to Section 413-01.
If DTC B1342, REPLACE the GEM; REFER to Section 419-10. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the
system for normal operation.
No
GO to L3.
L3 CHECK THE WASHER FLUID LEVEL SWITCH — MONITOR THE PID WFLUID
Washer Fluid Level Switch C198
Monitor the PID WFLUID.
Connect and then remove a jumper wire between washer fluid level switch C198, Circuit 81
(R/LG) and C198, Circuit 57 (BK).
Does the PID WFLUID indicate LOW when connected and OK when disconnected?
Yes
REPLACE the washer fluid level switch. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal
operation.
No
GO to L4.
L4 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR OPEN
Measure the resistance between washer fluid level switch C198, Circuit 57 (BK) and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to L5.
No
REPAIR Circuit 57 (BK). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
L5 CHECK CIRCUIT 81 (R/LG) FOR OPEN
